The Flood Warning continues for
  The Arkansas River at Van Buren.
* until Friday morning, or until the warning is cancelled.
* At  2:00 PM Tuesday, the stage was 21.51 feet.
* Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The Arkansas River at Van Buren is expected to rise 
  above flood stage early Wednesday afternoon and continue to rise to
  near 22.2 feet by Thursday morning. The river is then expected to
  remain near flood stage at 22 feet until further notice.
* Impact...At 22.0 feet, minor lowland flooding occurs along the 
  shoreline from the I-540 bridge east towards Lavaca.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Arkansas River at Ozark Lock and Dam.
* until Saturday afternoon, or until the warning is cancelled.
* At  2:00 PM Tuesday, the stage was 356.6 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 357.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage by 
  tonight and continue to rise to near 357.6 feet by early Thursday 
  afternoon. The river is then expected to remain near flood stage 
  at 357 feet until further notice.
* Impact...At 357.0 feet, flooding affects agricultural use lands 
  along the river downstream of the lock and dam in Franklin County. 
  Gas fields are also subject to flooding downstream. Equipment and 
  livestock should be moved to higher ground. North 5th Street in 
  Logan County near the Six Mile Levee begins to flood and may cut 
  off access to a nearby residence.

* At  1:30 PM Tuesday, the stage was 27.98 feet.
* Flood stage is 29.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The Poteau River near Panama is expected to rise above 
  flood stage late this afternoon and continue to rise to near 30.0 
  feet by Wednesday before dawn. The river is expected to fall below 
  flood stage Wednesday morning.
* Impact...At 31.0 feet, minor agricultural flooding occurs. Williams 
  Road east of Panama is flooded.

CONCERNING TAF SITES KTUL/KRVS/KBVO/KMLC/KXNA/KFYV/KFSM/KROG.
MVFR/IFR cigs will prevail early in the period as a an upper level
trough axis clears the area. After 15z, VFR cigs are expected to
scatter during the afternoon. VFR TAF elements to prevail for the
through 08z. MVFR/IFR vsbys in fog that develops after 08z,
especially across the NW AR sites where a brief period of VLIFR
vsbys are possible for the last portion of the period at those
sites.

DISCUSSION...
Early morning water vapor imagery detects an upper cyclone along
the KS/OK border, and precipitation has expanded in coverage over
northeast OK as moisture wraps around this system. The upper low
and associated precipitation will shift quickly east this morning,
with rainfall tapering off by mid/late morning. Partially clearing
skies will allow temperatures to bounce back into the 60s
areawide.

Shortwave ridging will briefly develop over the Plains by
Wednesday, with a breezy and warm day on tap. Nudged up high
temperatures a few degrees over the NBM. Strengthening
southwesterly low-level jet Wednesday night may lead to scattered
convection across parts of southeastern KS and perhaps into
northeast OK, with at least low storm chances persisting into the
afternoon in an expansive warm sector. The best chances of
showers/storms looks to hold off until later Thursday night and
especially Friday as a Pacific cold front eventually overtakes the
dryline and surges into the region late Friday.

Saturday looks to be a relatively cool day, with some lingering
showers across the eastern sections. Rain chances should ramp up
once again later Sunday as the active upper flow becomes
increasingly southwesterly.
