Early this morning the mid level low was located in west central
Missouri and was slowly moving east. At 08Z showers were still
moving into east central Kansas within the deformation zone, while
the more heavy rainfall was confined to Missouri within the
northeast quadrant of the low. The forecast for today will see the
precipitation chances across east central Kansas decrease gradually
through the day before ending at late afternoon. Additional isolated
showers with some thunder will be possible across northeast Kansas
this afternoon. Highs today top out in the lower 80s with most areas
remaining mostly cloudy. Dry weather is expected tonight with
decreasing clouds allowing temps to cool into the lower 60s.

.LONG TERM...(Saturday through Thursday)
Issued at 333 AM CDT Fri Jul 31 2020

Saturday will start out dry then precipitation chances begin to
increase in the afternoon and evening with the approach of a mid
level wave diving south across the central Plains. This will bring a
pre frontal trough and cold front southward across eastern Kansas
Saturday night into early Sunday. Precipitation chances will linger
through the day on Sunday mainly across northeast and east central
Kansas as another PV anomaly moves across the region. Highs in the
lower 80s on Saturday will be followed by highs in the 70s on Sunday.
A dry northwest flow pattern is expected Monday into Tuesday night
with lows in the 50s and highs in the 70s. Wednesday through
Thursday will chances for isolated to scattered showers and storms
as PV anomalies move southeast across the area within northwest
flow aloft. Temperatures in the 70s on Wednesday warming to around
80 on Thursday.
