.SYNOPSIS...A dry and weak cold front will result in a cooling
trend Tuesday. Dry southwesterly flow will follow for the middle
to latter portion of the week.
&&
.DISCUSSION...The ridge over Utah continues to flatten this evening
in response to the trough moving by to the north. A weak cold front
associated with this trough has already pushed through much of
northern Utah. The cold front is expected to stall over central Utah
before weakening tonight. Between the cold front and lowering
heights, temperatures are expected to trend cooler tomorrow. As a
result, all of the existing heat highlights have been allowed to
expire.
A shortwave trough will push into the West Coast on Wednesday and
slowly expand into the western Great Basin for the latter half of
the week. This will continue to allow for cooling temperatures,
although there is no indication of any significant moisture any time
soon.
No updates this evening except to remove expired highlights.
