Missouri...
 
  Gasconade River at Hazelgreen affecting Laclede County 
  Gasconade River at Jerome affecting Phelps County 
   
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive through flowing water. Nearly half of all flood 
fatalities are vehicle related. As little as 6 inches of water may 
cause you to lose control of your vehicle. Two feet of water will 
carry most vehicles away.

* Minor flooding is occurring.

* Forecast...The river has crested and will continue to fall to below
  flood stage by this evening.
* Impact...At 21.0 feet...Minor flooding begins at the gage site and 
  mainly affects low lying areas along the river.

* Flood stage is 15.0 feet. 
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 19.2 feet by 
  tomorrow early afternoon.  The river will fall below flood stage 
  Sunday morning.
* Impact...At 19.0 feet...Flood waters begin to overflow the left bank
  at the gage site.

 The Spring River near Waco.
* At 11:30 PM Friday The stage was 18.6 feet. 
* Flood stage is 19.0 feet. 
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to 8.5 feet by tomorrow 
  morning.
* Impact...At 19.0 feet...Flood Stage. Roads on the east side of Maple
  Bridge flood. Flood waters impact low areas near Galesburg upstream
  from the Waco forecast point. Blackberry Creek floods due to 
  backwater effects from the Spring River.

.SHORT TERM...(This evening through Saturday)

Despite the cold front having made its way well south of the
Ozarks, low overcast stratus remained over the area this afternoon
and is expected to remain over the area until the 850-700mb
troughs push far enough south and east of the area to drag the
clouds with it. While cloud heights will begin to lift, it may
take most of tonight for the clouds to finally move out and allow
clearing to occur.

Despite stubborn cloud cover, cold air advection will be ongoing
through tonight and into Saturday morning. Overnight lows will
fall into the middle to upper 20s as a result. With the recent
warm weather some blooming and growth as occurred on trees and
plants. the cold temperatures way impact some of this early
vegetation, however the coldest temperatures should only occur
close to sunrise which will limit multiple hours below 28 degrees.

Cloud cover will finally thin and begin to break during the day
Saturday allowing for some sunshine and letting temperatures climb
into the 50s for the most part.

.LONG TERM...(Saturday Night through Friday)

Another storm system will spread north out of the southern plains
Late Saturday night into Sunday morning as a shallow upper level
short wave moves across the plains. Little or no instability was
noted in the models which should allow for a more stratiform rain
shield to spread across the region through the day Sunday.
Surface winds will become southerly as a surface low develops in
the plains and a weak worm front lifts into the Ozarks. Rain
amounts with this activity will be around a third of an inch or
less, but with the saturated soils across the area from recent
rains, most of this rain may go directly to runoff.

The rain may linger into early Monday though mos of Monday should
be dry. We will begin to see a warming trend next week with highs
in the lower 70s by Wednesday. However, another storm system will
move into the area Late Monday night through Tuesday. This system
will have some instability to work with but general thunderstorms
are only expected at this time.

Rain on Tuesday may bring an additional inch to inch and a half to
the Ozarks. Again, soils are saturated and minor flooding will be
a concern.

The region then get a brief break Wednesday and Thursday before
yet another system bring more rain to the area Friday. There is
some light at the end of the week as next weekend may be dry and
mild.

.AVIATION...(For the 00Z TAFS through 00Z Saturday evening)

A stratus deck continues to slowly slide off to our east this
evening. VFR conditions will develop at all TAF sites as the
clouds clear the region. For the time being, expect MVFR
conditions to hang around another few hours at KBBG and KSGF.
Meanwhile, winds will tamper off this evening becoming generally
light from the northeast, before turning out of the east tomorrow
morning.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited flooding risk.

DISCUSSION...

Flooding of small streams, creeks, and rivers is widespread
across much of extreme southeast Kansas and southern Missouri.
This residual flooding will persist through this evening and
into Saturday morning. Numerous state highways and county roads
are flooded including multiple low water crossing sites.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

There is a chance for more showers Sunday and additional showers
and thunderstorms early next week. This may lead to additional
localized flooding.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

  Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.
