...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 515 PM CDT FOR
CHRISTIAN...NORTHERN STONE AND CENTRAL BARRY COUNTIES...
At 946 AM CDT, Doppler radar rainfall estimates and area rain gages
indicate that over two inches of rain have already fallen. Road
closures due to flooding have been reported north and east of
Cassville in Barry County, near Galena and Hurley in Stone County,
and west of Highlandville in Christian County.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage
and low lying areas.
This warning includes but is not limited to the following low water
crossings...
Highway 13 at Railey Creek near Reeds Spring...
Highway 13 at Pine Run northwest of Galena...
Route U at Pedelo Creek northeast of Sparta...
Route Y at Flat Creek just northeast of Cassville...
and Highway 39 at Flat Creek south of Jenkins.
Additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches will be possible in
the warned area late this morning into the afternoon.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
