* Until 500 PM MDT.
* At 207 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to one inch of rain has
already fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing
flash flooding.

Junkins Burn Scar.
Excessive rainfall over the Junkins burn scar may result in debris
flow moving through the Hardscrabble Creek drainage. The debris flow
can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.
This includes the following areas, Hardscrabble Creek near County
Road 389, Beulah Water Intake, County Road 165 near Junkins Burn
Scar, Forest Road 387 Bridge at South Hardscrabble Creek, Northcreek
Road county line to Red Mountain Camp, and Northcreek Road from Red
Mountain Camp to Beulah.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of
creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains
will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep
terrain, especially in and around these areas.

EAST CENTRAL CUSTER AND WEST CENTRAL PUEBLO COUNTIES...
At 306 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms have moved off
to the east. Radar estimates of three quarters of an inch, to near
one and a half inches of rain fell over the Junkins Burn Scar. Flash
flooding may be ongoing.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing flash
flooding.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

closed from CO Highway 165 to Colorado Highway 67 due to rock and
mudslides.
