Looking clear and pleasant today as the surface high skirts to
our south with high temps in the 50s. Then a cold front is
expected to push through the region Sunday late morning/afternoon
as a low passes to our north. Given the dry low-levels, not
expecting much if anything in the way of precip with it.
Otherwise, breezy, colder, and mostly dry conditions are expected
through the first half of next week across southern WI as we sit
on the backside of a potent storm system, which is progged to work
its way into and linger over the Northeast region beginning
Monday. The current forecast remains on track with no major
changes.

Today through Sunday:
Quiet conditions over the next couple days with no precipitation
expected as we will have large scale upper level ridging through
much of the day Sunday with a mostly dry column through at least
early Sunday. Thus expect mostly clear skies today into Sunday
with some moisture pushing into the region Sunday in association
with the surface front pushing through from a low pressure system
moving across the northern Great Lakes. The increased moisture
should allow for some clouds but still we expect conditions to
remain dry.
Otherwise given broad high pressure to the south and broad low
pressure to the north winds from the southwest will be breezy
from the southwest which should allow for temperatures to
over-perform some with highs expected to reach the low 50s. With
the front coming through Sunday morning a slightly cooler air mass
and breezy northwest winds will bring slightly cooler temperatures
with highs only expected to reach the mid 40s.

Brisk nwly winds and cold advection will prevail Sun nt-Mon AM in
the wake of a cold front. The associated digging upper trough
will slow over the wrn Great Lakes and wrn Ohio River Valley as
cyclogenesis ensues from the lower MS River Valley to the lower
Great Lakes for Sun-Mon. The low will occlude and slowly fill as
it moves nwd along the Ontario/Quebec border toward the middle of
the week. Any precipitation and LES is expected to remain over
Lake MI and ewd for this system.
Another large upper low will drop swd through the Great Plains
from Canada for Fri-Sat, but it looks dry at this time for srn WI.
Temps will return to near seasonal normals for the week with
lessening winds Mon nt-Tue.

High pressure continues to move into Kentucky today with southwest
winds becoming breezy due to low pressure across Canada, lingering
into Sunday.
Low pressure will move from far northern Minnesota to east of Lake
Superior tonight and Sunday. The low will bring a strong cold front
across Lake Michigan by late Sunday afternoon. Gusty northwest winds
are then expected behind the front Sunday night, with strong north
winds Monday into Monday night becoming northwest on Tuesday. Gales
are looking more likely for Monday into Monday night, along with high
waves over the southern portions of the lake. Thus a Gale Watch has
been issued for the open waters from 6z Monday to 6z Tuesday.
