Another round of light snow moved through the area this morning,
with light accumulations on grassy surfaces reported across
south-central and southeast Wisconsin. As the main baroclinic
zone responsible for this last bout of snow continues to exit the
area and drier mid-level air works into the region expect the
rest of the day to remain dry with a gradual decrease in cloud
cover from northwest to southeast.

Early Morning Hours:
Lingering light snow is moving eastward over Lake Michigan and
should exit southeast Wisconsin within the next couple of hours.
There is another area of snow over Iowa that is moving east-northeast.
The bulk of this activity may miss us to our south, but a
glancing blow of light snow to far southern WI can't be ruled out.
Today through Tuesday:
As the baroclinic zone that led to our light snow yesterday and
during the overnight hours shifts eastward this morning, some
snow flurries may linger before the noon hour. Then, high pressure
will keep us dry through the rest of today and into Tuesday.
Monday will feature more clouds than sun for most, but areas in
central Wisconsin will have a better chance for sunshine. It'll
remain chilly during the day owing to a northerly wind, with highs
in the mid to upper 30s. Skies will clear out for a bit Monday
night into Tuesday, allowing overnight lows to plummet into the
mid 20s.
Winds will come around to westerly on Tuesday and skies will be
clear in the afternoon, but temperatures will prove to be only
slightly warmer than Monday.

Tuesday night through Sunday:
High pressure will shift south and weaken over the Ohio River
Valley for Tue nt-Wed, while a wave of low pressure moves across
srn Canada through Wed nt. This will lead to modest swly winds
and warm advection with 1000-500 mb thicknesses increasing to 555
DM for Wed along with high temps around 50F.
High pressure will follow the low across Ontario on Thu, while the
upper low over the srn Great Plains and its associated sfc low
lifts newd through the Ohio River Valley through Thu nt. Nly winds
will bring some cooling to srn WI along with small chances of getting
clipped by the pcpn to the south. A north to south sfc ridge will
then move across the wrn Great Lakes for Fri-Fri nt with upper
ridging aloft. As the high moves away and low pressure tracks
across srn Canada, breezy swly winds and warm advection will boost
temps back into the 50s for Sat. A digging upper trough and cold
front will then pass Sat nt or Sun AM. Nwly winds and cold
advection for Sun.

Lingering light snow and IFR visibilities at KENW will dissipate
quickly this morning. Otherwise, MVFR ceilings will eventually
scatter out and VFR conditions will prevail later this morning
into early afternoon. Northwest winds are expected through
tonight, and eventually become westerly as high pressure drops
south into the Central Plains Tuesday.

The eastern extent of a high pressure system sitting over the
Northern Rockies will continue to impact the region through
tonight. As the high shifts east today, it will help keep winds
relatively light and northerly. Then a surface low is expected to
track east across central Canada towards Hudson Bay and bring an
enhanced pressure gradient across the western Great Lakes Tuesday
into Wednesday, where northern portions of Lake Michigan may
experience southwesterly gales Tuesday night into Wednesday
morning.
