Models continue to show today remaining quiet weather wise, and a
cold front moving through tomorrow. This mornings sounding shows
dry air has remained in place, with PWATs of only .70 inches, and
a strong inversion at around 925mb. The models are indicating
better chances of rain as the front drops south of Miami in the
late afternoon and early evening so have increased coverage at
that time. They are also trying to increase some earlier in the
day, but have not changed much at this time from previous
forecast.

Patchy fog with associated MVFR/locally IFR conditions over the
interior peninsula through 13z not expected to impact TAF sites.
VFR conditions expected to prevail, although after 06z tonight
BKN clouds around 4,000 ft with possibility of lower ceilings
around 1,500-2,000 ft and scattered SHRA east coast sites. These
lower conditions may need to be added in later forecasts. Light
mainly NE wind, except NW at KAPF after 18z.

Short Term (Today through Tonight)...
Surface high pressure over Central Florida and clear skies over
South Florida will help in producing patchy fog over interior areas
early this morning. This fog should burn off fairly quickly after
sunrise.

A strong 500 mb high pressure extending from the Gulf of Mexico
across South Florida and into the western Atlantic, in combination
with the surface high Central Florida, will lead to one more day of
fair weather conditions across South Florida today. A cold front
over the SE United States early this morning will move across North
and Central Florida tonight. Clouds will gradually increase as the
front approaches South Florida tonight, with isolated to scattered
showers late tonight over the Atlantic waters and spreading across
the east coast metro areas in N-NE winds. Rainfall amounts should
average less than a quarter of an inch.

After low temperatures in the upper 50s and 60s this morning, highs
today are expected to reach the lower to mid 80s over the interior
and Gulf coast, and upper 70s to around 80 east coast metro areas.
Lows tonight ahead of the front will be a few degrees warmer,
ranging from the lower 60s interior to the mid to upper 60s
elsewhere.

Long Term (Friday through Wednesday Night)...
A backdoor cold front will push through the region on Friday with a
mentionable chance of showers in the forecast. The presence of high
pressure aloft should keep convection shallow which means that it
should be limited to showers instead of thunderstorms. Temperatures
will be a tad cooler thanks to the additional cloud cover with most
of the area only reaching into the upper 70s except for the
immediate Gulf coast which could receive enough insolation before
the weak frontal boundary arrives with clouds and showers to reach
into the lower 80s. Behind the front on Saturday will be slightly
cooler temperatures, particularly along the east coast where
temperatures will reach into the mid 70s with a brisk easterly flow
and the possibility of some shallow low level Atlantic stratocu
clouds in play. To the west, things will be more sunny with
temperatures able to rise to around 80.

The next front will approach the region on Sunday allowing for an
increase in moisture across the area and a widespread return into
the lower to mid 80s for the max temperatures. Rain chances also
return with an increasing trend Sunday night into Monday as the
front enters the region. The model spread is becoming more similar
with these latest runs with the major differences being in the
amplitude of the mid to upper level trough over the eastern United
States and the character of a shortwave trough ahead of the main
trough aloft that could sync well with the surface boundary passage
to enhance convection ahead of and along the front. With this in
mind, have slight chance of thunderstorms in the forecast for
Monday. While rain showers will be the majority of the convection,
the potential for thunderstorms will certainly exist and need to be
monitored as the forecast evolves.

The front will push through Monday night into Tuesday, with drier
and cooler air in its wake. Southern Florida will wake up with
temperatures ranging from the mid 40s over inland Southwest Florida
to around 60 along the Atlantic coast on Tuesday morning.
Temperatures on Tuesday afternoon may struggle to reach the mid 60s
across much of the area. With surface high pressure settling over
the Tennessee Valley by midweek, this will provide a steady stream
of colder northerly wind flow down the peninsula of Florida.
Wednesday morning will likely be the coldest with portions of
inland Southwest Florida falling into the upper 30s and widespread
40s with only the immediate Atlantic coast remaining around 50.
Wind speeds may not lighten enough overnight into the morning to
mitigate wind chill concerns, so this will be another detail of
the forecast to monitor in case wind chill concerns remain as
reach this portion of the forecast. Temperatures will warm a few
degrees on Wednesday night/Thursday morning as the high pressure
to the north slides eastward and the wind flow becomes more
easterly cutting off the cold air advection. Atlantic moisture and
warmth could enable some light coastal showers.

Marine...
One more day of good boating conditions before conditions
deteriorate on Friday in association with the cold front passing
through the local waters. NE wind will increase to near 25 knots
Friday afternoon over the Atlantic waters, and to 20 knots Gulf
waters, with higher gusts. Seas will build to as high as 10 feet
or greater over the Atlantic waters and 6 feet outer Gulf waters
Friday night. NE to E winds 20 to 25 knots will continue through
early Saturday, then subside late Saturday and Sunday as wind
turns SE. Seas will continue around 10 feet in the Atlantic waters
on Saturday before slowly subsiding Saturday night and Sunday.
Wind will decrease further Sunday night ahead of the next frontal
system which is expected to approach South Florida on Monday.

Beach Forecast...
Strong and dangerous rip currents will return to the Atlantic
beaches Friday afternoon and continue through Saturday. Some
slight improvement is possible on Sunday, but at least an elevated
risk of rip currents will persist through Sunday.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY

East wind will increase on Friday, with gusts to 30 knots or greater
Friday night and Saturday. This will lead to hazardous marine
conditions over all South Florida waters from late Friday through
Saturday. Seas will build over 10 feet in the Atlantic, and to 6 feet
over the outer Gulf waters late Friday through Saturday.

A north swell from low pressure over the North Atlantic will
contribute to the rough marine conditions, as well as produce
strong and dangerous rip currents, rough surf, and possible beach
erosion primarily at the beaches of Palm Beach County Friday night
through Sunday.

Wind may gust to 30 mph or greater over much of South Florida Friday
afternoon as well as early Saturday.

A strong cold front is forecast to move through South Florida late
Monday, bringing in colder air to the region for Tuesday and
Wednesday. Low temperatures and wind chill values Tuesday night and
Wednesday morning may fall into the 30s over portions of Southwest
Florida and the 40s elsewhere over South Florida.
