* WHAT...West winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 60 mph

* IMPACTS...Travel will be difficult, especially for high 
  profile vehicles. Low flying light aircraft may experience 
  severe turbulence near the mountains.

at all terminals. W/NW winds generally below 10kt can be expected
through much of the TAF period.

DISCUSSION...

An upper low is over Michigan and a weak upper trough is moving over
West Texas and southeast New Mexico. Surface winds across the area
will mostly be out of the southwest to west which will aid in
warming up temperatures from yesterday. Highs today are expected to
be in the 60s and 70s. A weak cold front is expected to move into
mostly the northern and eastern sections of the CWA beginning this
evening leading to colder temperatures for tonight. Highs on Sunday
will be similar to today as winds come back around to the southwest
to west across most of the area.

Another upper trough from the west coast will move toward the region
on Monday leading to a surface trough and west winds across the
area. These downslope winds will result in temperatures warming up
across much of the CWA. This trough moving across the region may
result in strong winds across the Guadalupe Mountains Monday
afternoon. Precipitation will be possible across parts of the area
as the upper trough moves overhead Monday night into Tuesday. A cold
front associated with the upper trough will move into the area on
Tuesday as the upper trough progresses eastward. This will result in
temperatures cooling to near normal on Tuesday with highs in the 50s
and 60s. Another upper trough moving in from the Pacific Northwest
will dig southward towards the region on Wednesday. Temperatures
across West Texas and southeast New Mexico will warm up a little in
advance of this upper trough on Wednesday with winds mostly out of
the south. The upper trough moves over the region on Thursday with a
cold front moving into the area. Precipitation will also be possible
with this system. Wintry precipitation will be possible across
portions of West Texas and southeast New Mexico Wednesday night and
Thursday morning as temperatures cool to near or below freezing.
High temperatures on Thursday will mostly be in the 50s, and
temperatures on Friday will warm up slightly as the precipitation
moves out of the area. The upper trough moves east of the region
next Saturday with temperatures warming up from the previous day.
