For much of the period, terminals across the area will be dealing
with impacts from TSRA and reduced ceilings. Winds will primarily
be out of the south, with speeds above 10 kts likely for much of
the period. As a cold front begins to move across the west and
north, late in the period, winds will transition to W/NW and will
increase substantially.

AVIATION...
Forecasts will continue to reflect expected timing of TSRA, to
affect sites through the period. Low MVFR/High IFR ceilings will
prevail across most sites after 12/12z.

SHORT TERM...Tonight Through Monday Night
Several rounds of deep convection are expected through the first
half of this period.

Data from local radars indicate an area of developing, elevated
convection, approaching southwest sections of the forecast area.
Increasing southerly low level flow will aid additional development,
spreading from southwest sections to the northeast during the
evening hours.

Focus for severe weather potential on Sunday is the primary
forecast focus of this period. Additional clusters of
thunderstorms are expected to approach from the southeast during
the morning hours. The effect on instability from these clusters
will play an important role on additional development in the
afternoon. Regardless, forecast soundings suggest the greatest
potential for severe weather will be across southeast sections.

A cold front will enter northwest sections by late afternoon, and
may focus a third round of storms, before moving east of the
forecast area by late evening.

LONG TERM...Tuesday Through Saturday
Several weak disturbances, in a westerly flow aloft, will promote
scattered shower activity very early, then late in this forecast
period. Overall precipitation amounts will be light.

Cooler than normal conditions will prevail early in this period.
Frost conditions are possible across northwest sections Tuesday
night.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for a Large Part of Arkansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Rain and thunderstorms will become more widespread later today and
tonight across the state. The overall severe weather threat is
low, but a few storms could become strong to severe with the main
threat being hail. These storms would most likely occur across
west/southwest Arkansas tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday Through Friday

It will be very active on Sunday, with an outbreak of severe weather
expected. Severe storms are most favored along the Gulf Coast from
Louisiana to Georgia, but will likely affect much of southeast
Arkansas into the Tennessee Valley. Tornadoes, damaging winds, and
large hail are all in play during this event.

As far as rainfall, two to more than three inch amounts are in the
forecast across the southern counties. Some of this will occur
quickly with heavy downpours. Given this and a nearly saturated
ground that cannot hold much water, there could be areas of flash
flooding. Half inch to inch and a half amounts are expected farther
north.

Rain will end Sunday night and Monday, but it will turn much cooler.
Temperatures will stay below average for several days. A freeze is
expected over the Ozark Mountains of the north Wednesday morning,
with areas of frost possible in northern and central sections of the
state.

Spotter activation may be needed on Sunday. Please relay any
information about observed severe weather to the NWS while following
all local, state, and CDC guidance.
