* Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by this afternoon 
  and crest near 23.0 feet by tomorrow morning. The river is forecast
  to fall below flood stage by Friday early afternoon.
* Impact:  At 22.4 feet...Gasconade Park boat ramp...BBQ grills...and 
  parking area begins flooding near this height.

.SHORT TERM...  (Through Late Thursday Afternoon)
Issued at 403 AM CDT Wed Mar 11 2020

Complex of showers and storms over eastern KS/southwestern MO
will continue to slide to the east southeast early this morning,
and is already moving into far southern portions of forecast area
as of 09z. Once precipitation moves out of southeastern MO by
midday, dry and warmer conditions expected with highs in the upper
50s to mid 60s as clouds scatter out from west to east.

Dry and mild weather expected across the region tonight with lows in
the 40s. In the meantime, the next system will slide east towards
forecast area with strong cold front moving into northwestern
Missouri by daybreak on Thursday. Ahead of the frontal boundary,
low level moisture will be on the increase with decent
convergence and some instability. Will see showers and storms
develop and spread east across forecast area by Thursday
afternoon. Decent shear still expected, however, model MUCAPE is a
bit lower than previous forecasts runs, so confidence in any
severe storms remains low, but SPC has kept portions of southeast
MO and southwestern IL in a marginal/slight risk of some strong to
severe storms Thursday afternoon through early Thursday evening.

.LONG TERM...  (Thursday Night through Tuesday)

Cold front will exit by midnight Thursday night with dry, quiet
and colder weather on Friday with highs in the low to mid 50s. In
the meantime, extended models are still showing upper level closed
low just off the coast of the northern Baja will begin to lift
northeast towards forecast area with increasing chances of rain
late Friday night through Saturday night. With colder air over
region, will see a bit of a rain/snow mix across northern portions
late Friday night/early Saturday morning, with some minor
accumulations possible, before temperatures warm up and change it
all to rain. Another break in activity on Sunday before next
system approaches region with another round of showers and storms
Monday through Tuesday.

Complex of showers and storms moving through southern MO early
this morning should remain south of the taf sites. The fog will
dissipate later this morning with the stratus clouds currently at
or below 1000 feet in height in UIN and the St Louis metro area
gradually lifting and breaking up late this morning and early this
afternoon with improvement to VFR conditions by late afternoon.
Light and variable winds can be expected today with a light
southeast wind tonight.

SPECIFICS FOR KSTL: Complex of showers and storms moving through
southern MO early this morning should remain south of STL. The
fog will dissipate later this morning with the stratus clouds
currently below 1000 feet in height gradually lifting and
breaking up late this morning and early this afternoon with
improvement to VFR conditions by late afternoon. Light and
variable winds can be expected today with a light southeast wind
tonight.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of eastern and
central Missouri as well as west central and southwest Illinois.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Chance of thunderstorms through Noon across portions of southeast
Missouri and southwestern Illinois. No severe weather is expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Chance of thunderstorms Thursday afternoon and evening. Scattered
strong to severe storms are possible, mainly along and south of I-70.
The main threats will be large hail, damaging winds and isolated
tornadoes.

A brief wintry mix of rain and snow is possible late Friday night
through early Saturday morning across portions of northeast Missouri
and west central Illinois. It is too early to determine any snowfall
amounts.

There is another chance of thunderstorms Monday through Tuesday.
