Deformation type precipitation moving through our forecast area
this afternoon with mainly snow and sleet north and west of STL and
patchy light rain and drizzle south and east of STL. As the
temperatures continue to fall and the cold air deepens the
precipitation will change to all snow across the entire forecast
area by late afternoon and early this evening. Looking at the CAMS
the snow should shift east of the forecast area by 03Z this evening
and the Winter Weather Headlines should be able to be cancelled
early. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches can be
expected across parts of our area, particularly on elevated
surfaces and grassy areas. Did expand the Winter Weather Advisory
east to include the St Louis metro area due to the combination of
snow and sleet which may impact travel. Much colder low temperatures
are forecast tonight which will be close to seasonal normals.
With surface winds diminishing this evening there may be some
patchy fog developing late tonight as the ground is quite wet,
although the surface dew point will be dropping. A fast moving
negatively tilted upper level trough may bring very light snow or
flurries to northeast MO and west central IL Sunday night.

Will see a warming trend Monday and Tuesday with light rain
possible Monday night. A better chance of precipitation will
occur Wednesday and Wednesday night as a cold front drops
southeastward through our area, followed by colder temperatures
Wednesday night and Thursday. The operational GFS model has the
most significant precipitation threat for Thursday night through
Friday night as a low pressure system moves eastward through MO
and IL. It may be cold enough for a wintry mix Thursday night,
but by Friday afternoon the precipitation type should be liquid
rain.

Conditions are already improving at KCOU/KUIN and are expected to
