  including Strothers Crossing Road near the community of Calcasieu

* At 6:45 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 23.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 24.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage just 
  after midnight tonight and continue rising to a crest of 24.6 feet 
  Saturday morning.
* Impact...At 24.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding will occur.
* Impact...At 25.0 feet, Lowest roads beside the river flood around 
  Deweyville and subject to being closed. In addition, low-lying 
  roads in Southwest Beauregard Parish are flooded including Robert 
  Clark Road. Flooding occurs on the south side of Niblett Bluff 
  Park with access roads to camp houses cut off around the park. 
  Access roads to the river in Northeastern Orange County become 
  flooded.

.AVIATION...
Mostly IFR/MVFR conditions from overnight lasting into this
morning. We can expect conditions to improve over the day as
ceilings lift and eventually clear out at the southern terminals.
While its not in the TAFs, some of the models hinted at fog
formation tonight. With damp grounds, higher dewpoints, and winds
decreasing below 5kts, this is not out of the realm of
possibility, however its worth a mention and will be reconsidered
during the next package.

.PREV DISCUSSION... /issued Issued by National Weather Service Brownsville TX/

Discussion...A broad and elongated 500 mb trough axis over the
south central Plains States and the Gulf Coast region has picked
up the remnants of TD Beta and is finally shifting it away from LA
giving the region a welcome break from the pcpn from the last few
days. As the 500 mb trough shifts gradually eastwards through the
end of the work week into the weekend, drier and more stable air
will move over the mid Gulf Coast maintaining near zero pops. This
500 mb trough axis will then split in two with the northern
portion lifting out to the east reaching the Mid Atlantic
Coastline by Sat morning. Meanwhile the southern end of the trough
axis will close off over central and eastern TX and will then
likely drift N-NE reaching the ARK/LA/TX area by Sun morning.

Another strong 500 mb trough will dig down into the Upper
Midwest/Great Lakes region this weekend which will open up with
closed low meandering around the lower Miss River Valley ejecting
it out pretty quickly to the NE early next week.

This next large 500 mb trough axis from the Midwest will dig
pretty far southwards towards the Gulf Coast and will push a
relatively strong cold front through the region next Mon. Overall
moisture is somewhat limited with this front and will only mention
some slgt chc pops for the time being for the region.

CAA will be somewhat limited behind this front next week and
accordingly will reflect only a slight cool down of temps with
generally lower dewpoints expected for the first half of next
week.

Finally, have cancelled the FFA for the region since the bulk of
the pcpn has shifted out of the area with the exiting trough axis.

The GFS and ECMWF models are is good agreement for temps/pops up
through Mon. Then the model diverge a bit with the ECMWF showing a
stronger coold down versus the GFS which wants to reflect a more
gradually decrease in temps. Will go close to a blend of the
models through Day 7/8.

MARINE...The winds and seas will continue to improve across the
mid Gulf coast region as the remnants of TD Beta exits the region.
Weak surface ridging will then prevail over the region from Fri
into the weekend. A surface low pressure area developing near the
TX Panhandle region later this weekend into next week may tighten
up the PGF increasing the southerly low level winds a bit. With
the expected passage of a cold front early next week, expect light
to moderate northly surface winds to return in the wake of the
fropa Mon. No SCA conditions expected through next Mon.
