* At 13.0 feet...County Road K, one mile southwest of Montpelier 
  begins to flood. Some flooding begins to affect the village of 
  Pioneer. Significant low land and agricultural flooding occurs near
  the river.

Mostly cloudy skies and low chances for spotty sprinkles or light
showers will continue into tonight and Friday. Warmer temperatures
and periodic chances for showers and thunderstorms are then expected
this weekend into next week as a more summer-like pattern sets up
across the Midwest.

Breakdown of Northern Great Lakes to New England ridging will
finally allow pesky TN Valley upper low to release ene into southern
OH by Friday. The associated warm conveyor with this track should
keep more organized rain east-southeast of the local area with pcpn
likely light and spotty at best given weak forcing. There is some
signal in model guidance for a wave of mid level moisture to wrap nw
into far ne IN/sc MI/nw OH later tonight into Friday morning with
slightly higher probabilities for measurable rain. A subtle low
level boundary and enhancement from diurnal "heating" could then
touch off some additional isolated shower activity in the afternoon.
With that said, expecting more of the same (mainly dry/cloudy)
tonight into Friday with temps likely making a run at 70F tomorrow.

.LONG TERM...(Friday Night through Thursday)

The holiday weekend into next week will feature a shift to more of a
summer-like pattern as upper ridging strengthens over the southeast
US and some semblance of troughing stalls across the Plains.
Southwesterly flow in between will direct increasingly warm/moist
air north from the Gulf with lows in the 60s and highs mainly in the
low-mid 80s by Sunday and beyond. This increasingly unstable/moist
environment will also provide periodic chances for showers/storms
through the much of the long term as several convectively aided
impulses lift ne from the Southern Plains.

Models remain in decent agreement with the first convectively
enhanced vort max tracking ne through WI and northern MI Saturday
into Saturday night. An organized area of convection associated with
this compact wave should largely bypass nnw with low PoPs into
western zones Saturday afternoon, and the entire FA Saturday
night/Sunday retained given ongoing WAA in the vicinity of a
trailing low level trough axis. Chances for showers/storms then
increase Monday afternoon through the middle of next week as more
unstable air continues to advect in and a frontal boundary eases
in from the west.

.AVIATION...(For the 18Z TAFS through 18Z Friday Afternoon)

The upper low level low which has been meandering across the Ohio
Valley the past few days will slowly lift northwest from western
Kentucky through Friday morning. Some modest low level moisture
advection in southeast low level flow should allow for
deterioration of cigs to MVFR this afternoon and to lower end MVFR
or possibly IFR later tonight into early Friday morning. A weak
sfc trough reflection of this system may also help to focus some
IFR cigs across northern Indiana early Friday morning. Confidence
is on the high side for cigs below fuel alternate criteria this
period, but low to medium in IFR conditions. Some increasing in
low level mixing should take any IFR cigs back to MVFR by mid to
late morning Friday. East winds gusting to 15 to 20 knots for a
few more hours this afternoon will diminish tonight and stay below
10 knots tonight into Friday with weakening gradient.
