...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following waterways 
in Indiana...

  Wabash River...White River...


.The flood threat continues on the Wabash and White Rivers as a 
result of recent precipitation events. Flooding on the lower reaches 
of the Wabash and White Rivers is expected to last as late as 
Monday, February 24. 

Flood impacts should mainly be confined to roads near the waterways, 
agricultural land, bottomlands, and levees.  Please see the specific 
impacts listed for your location of interest below or by going to 
the web page described below.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

* At 12:30 PM Tuesday the stage was 20.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...It will rise to near 20.3 feet by this afternoon then 
  begin falling. It will fall below flood stage Thursday morning.
* At 20.5 feet...County Road 250 West from State Road 56 floods and 
  blocks the vehicle access to Dodge City.  During the March 2008 
  flood the river remained above this level from late afternoon March
  19 through April 9.   As mid-March 2011 high water was receding...
  SR 257 south of Washington reopened when Shoals was at 10.5 feet 
  and falling steadily for the past 2 days.

* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Wednesday morning and continue
  to rise to near 17.9 feet by late Friday night.  It will fall below
  flood stage by Sunday afternoon.
* At 17.5 feet...A few sloughs and a drainage have water in them in 
  the vicinity of SR 63 on the west side of the Wabash River.

  Water is near or starting on Giro Road in the vicinity of submerged
  Pottsville Road. Oil stripped fields flood. Flood gates must be 
  installed at Hazleton.

A cold front will move through the area today, with showers and/or
drizzle coming to an end and temperatures turning colder for mid
week. Strong high pressure will keep things dry but cool through
the end of the week into the start of the weekend. One or more low
pressure systems late in the weekend into early next week look to
provide a return to milder temperatures but also our next chances
for precipitation.

A cold front will push through the area today, which will
gradually bring an end to any lingering showers or drizzle. Will
steadily decrease pops from northwest to southeast through the
morning before going dry in the afternoon. Forecast soundings do
show some residual saturation aloft, but a deep low level dry
layer should keep any of this from manifesting as precipitation
reaching the ground this afternoon.

High temperatures should be reached early in the day and will
likely be near or only slightly above morning lows. Temperatures
will gradually fall later in the day as cold advection quickly
ramps up behind the front. Bumped blend max temps down to match
these expectations.

The entirety of the short term looks to be dry as a large 1040
millibar plus dome of Canadian high pressure settles over the
central and eastern part of the country. This leaves temperatures
as the main variable, which the blend generally handled well, Did
make minor downward adjustments in a few periods per GFS low level
thermal progs.

.LONG TERM /Friday through Monday/...

Good confidence in dry weather and slightly below temperatures to
start off the long term on Friday as surface high pressure moves
over the Ohio Valley and the South. Then, return flow around the
high and perturbations ahead of an upper southern Plains trough
supports a warmup on Saturday and chance PoPs by Saturday night.
The trough and associated frontal system are expected to move
through sometime early next week.

Blend temperature trends looks good but with models having some
temporal and spacial differences with the aforementioned system,
confidence in temperatures to within a few degrees is not great late
in the long term.
