...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following waterways 
in Indiana...

  Eagle Creek...East Fork White River...Mississinewa River...Wabash 
  River...White River...

.Lowland flooding continues along several area rivers as a result of 
heavy rains over the last 2 weeks. Rainfall received Saturday will 
prolong the ongoing flooding and caused additional flooding to 
develop. While most areas are experiencing lowland flooding, the 
Mississinewa at Ridgeville has moderate flooding.

Flooding has impacted or will continue to impact numerous local 
roads, a few state highways, many river parks, low agricultural 
land, and a few river cabins. Flooding will likely last into early 
April in some areas.

Those with interests along area rivers should pay close attention to 
changing river conditions and updated forecasts at least into next 
week.

* At 13.0 feet...Significant flooding of Mississinewa River in 
  northern Randolph County.  Water is likely on SR 1 just south of SR
  28.  West CR 825 N east of SR 1 and West River Road west of SR 1 
  and possibly other county roads are flooded.  Little League field 
  in Ridgeville is flooded.  Noticeable agricultural flooding in 
  progress.

  Sycamore Street, and along Riverside Drive to prepare for

.Lowland flooding continues along several area rivers as a result of 
heavy rains over the last 2 weeks. Rainfall received Saturday will 
prolong the ongoing flooding and caused additional flooding to 
develop. While most areas are experiencing lowland flooding, the 
Mississinewa at Ridgeville has moderate flooding.

Flooding has impacted or will continue to impact numerous local 
roads, a few state highways, many river parks, low agricultural 
land, and a few river cabins. Flooding will likely last into early 
April in some areas.

Those with interests along area rivers should pay close attention to 
changing river conditions and updated forecasts at least into next 
week.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

in Indiana...

  Driftwood River...East Fork White River...Mississinewa River...
  Wabash River...White River...

.Lowland flooding continues along several area rivers as a result of 
heavy rains over the last 2 weeks. Rainfall received Saturday will 
prolong the ongoing flooding and caused additional flooding to 
develop. While most areas are experiencing lowland flooding, the 
Mississinewa at Ridgeville has moderate flooding.

Flooding has impacted or will continue to impact numerous local 
roads, a few state highways, many river parks, low agricultural 
land, and a few river cabins. Flooding will likely last into early 
April in some areas.

Those with interests along area rivers should pay close attention to 
changing river conditions and updated forecasts at least into next 
week.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

  21.34 feet...about one half foot higher...but the water did not 
  reach State Road 257 after Shoals crested at 15.59 feet...about 2.5
  feet lower.  Lost River did not contribute much water during this 
  June flood and locally it was not extremely wet.

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following waterways 
in Indiana...

  Driftwood River...East Fork White River...Mississinewa River...
  Wabash River...White River...

.High river levels and some lowland flooding will continue along rivers 
in central and southern Indiana. River levels may approach those 
experienced during recent times in a few areas. 

Late this morning some lowland flooding continues along the East Fork
White River in Jackson County and along the Wabash River in 
Tippecanoe, Fountain, Parke and Vermillion counties. The White River was 
also flooding at most locations in central Indiana.

Lowland flooding is possible along the Wabash River from Covington to
Hutsonville by Tuesday. Backwater from the East Fork White River will
cause lowland flooding along the Muscatatuck river in southern 
Jackson County this weekend.

Rivers will be elevated in central Indiana for 6 more days and in 
southwest Indiana for 10 more days.

High water will close State Road 235 east of Medora in Jackson County
through Tuesday. High water may affect 225 near Battleground and 258 
east of Cortland during the weekend.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following waterways 
in Indiana...

  East Fork White River...Wabash River...White River...


.Flooding continues along much of the Wabash and White Rivers in 
central and southern Indiana.  Flooding on the East Fork White River 
is confined to the Seymour area.

The Wabash River will be cresting at Covington on Tuesday 
near 17 feet.  Elsewhere along the river, water levels are 
near steady or falling.  The crest on the White River, as of Monday 
evening, was in the Indianapolis area.  The crest should reach 
about 18 feet at Spencer Wednesday.  On the East Fork White River, 
Seymour will be cresting around 14 feet Tuesday.

Flooding is expected to come to an end along the Wabash around 
Sunday, April 5, while on the White River it should last through 
about Tuesday, April 7.

Flood waters will affect local, county, and in some cases state 
roads.  Agricultural land that needs to be drying out for farmers to 
work the land unfortunately is being affected.  Some low lying river 
cabins may also be impacted.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following waterways 
in Indiana...

  East Fork White River...Wabash River...White River...

.Flooding continues along much of the Wabash and White Rivers in 
central and southern Indiana.  Flooding on the East Fork White River 
is confined to the Seymour area.

The Wabash River is near crest at Covington at 17 feet.  Elsewhere along 
the river, water levels are near steady or falling. The crest on the White River, as of this morning, was near Centerton. The crest should reach about 17.5 feet at Spencer Wednesday afternoon. On the East Fork White River, Seymour was near crest around 14 feet this morning.

Flooding is expected to come to an end along the Wabash around 
Monday, April 6, while on the White River it should last through 
about Tuesday, April 7.

Flood waters will affect local, county, and in some cases state 
roads.  Agricultural land that needs to be drying out for farmers to 
work the land unfortunately is being affected.  Some low lying river 
cabins may also be impacted.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following waterways 
in Indiana...

  East Fork White River...Wabash River...White River...

.Flooding continues along much of the Wabash and White Rivers in 
central and southern Indiana.

The Wabash River had crested as far downstream as Riverton. The 
crest on the White River, as of this morning, was near Spencer.

Flooding is expected to come to an end along the Wabash around 
Monday, April 6, while on the White River it should last through 
about Tuesday, April 7. Additional rainfall late this weekend into 
next week could lead to prolonged or renewed flooding.

Flood waters will affect local, county, and in some cases state 
roads.  Agricultural land that needs to be drying out for farmers to 
work the land unfortunately is being affected.  Some low lying river 
cabins may also be impacted.



Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

Issued at 333 PM EDT Sat Mar 28 2020

Scattered severe thunderstorms will continue through the rest of
the day today and continue into the early overnight hours. Rain
will end by tomorrow morning with very windy conditions during the
day. Much of next week will be dry with small chances for rain
during the middle of the week as a couple of upper level
disturbances move through the area.

.NEAR TERM /Tonight/...
Issued at 916 PM EDT Sat Mar 28 2020

Large area of rain/embedded thunderstorms currently spreading into
the area from the southwest, ahead of an upper level disturbance
moving through southern Illinois. This feature is expected to move
east of the local area around 290500Z, followed by the cold
frontal passage, roughly in the 290500Z-290900Z time frame. Short
term model data are not very bullish on convective development
along the actual front later tonight, possibly due to the lead
impulse stealing some of the energy.

Nevertheless, deep layer shear is expected to become very high
later tonight, as a 55 kt low level jet moves into the area,
coupled with the approach of a 95 kt mid level jet. A narrow area
of moderate instability exists over Illinois, ahead of the cold
front. As a result, conditional severe threat still looks rather
high later tonight, depending on how much convection can hold
together, closer to the frontal zone.

Will keep PoPs high until the frontal passage later tonight, and
then drop them off rapidly after that. Potential exists for some
wind gusts in the 30-35 kt range later tonight, if the low level
jet can mix down in places.

Active weather is expected for the rest of today and tonight as a
strong upper level low pressure system tracks across the Upper
Midwest and a surface cold front passes through central Indiana.
Severe weather will be ongoing during the early overnight hours
with the best chance for severe weather generally before midnight.
Very strong low level dynamics will be in place with abundant low
level shear and helicity. Instability continues to be marginal but
with such abundant dynamics, severe weather will be likely. Large
hail will be the primary threat with the potential for gusty winds
and tornadoes. With such strong dynamics, there is a potential for
significant and long tracking tornadoes. After midnight, the front
will be passing through and the threat for severe weather and rain
will diminish. Lows tonight will range from the upper 40s across
the northwest to the upper 50s in the southeast.

.SHORT TERM /Sunday through Tuesday/...

The primary concern for the period is going to be the very strong
gradient winds during the day Sunday. In the aftermath of the
frontal passage, very strong pressure gradient forces and strong
winds aloft will bring advisory level winds in excess of 40 mph to
much of central Indiana. There are some concerns that the cloud
cover may inhibit winds mixing down to some degree, but there is
enough confidence that there will be efficient enough mixing to
bring winds in excess of 40kts. These winds will begin during the
morning hours and continue until sunset.

High pressure will briefly build Sunday night and Monday with dry
weather expected. Another upper level low pressure system will
track across the Tennessee Valley on Tuesday, but is currently not
expected to bring rain to the area except for possibly the
southern counties. If the low pressure changes track, higher POPs
may be needed in a later forecast package. Current thoughts are
the best chance for rain would be during the day Tuesday.

High temperatures are expected reach the mid 50s to low 60s
tomorrow and Monday and then the mid to upper 40s on Tuesday. Lows
will fall into the low 30s to low 40s Sunday and Monday nights.

.LONG TERM /Tuesday Night through Saturday/...

Ensembles indicate the potential for a couple of systems to affect
the area during the extended, in a generally progressive flow.

The first trough is expected to be in the process of passing off
to the east of the local area Tuesday night. Will keep some chance
PoPs for rain for Tuesday night to cover any lingering activity
with this trough.

There may be a relative lull in the precipitation threat by
Wednesday and Thursday, as some upper ridging moves in for a time,
before the next trough moves into the western Great Lakes by next
Saturday. It appears from the ensembles that the best threat for
precipitation with this system will be in the Friday to Saturday
time frame.

VFR ceilings with lower visibilities within TS rain are the
current conditions over all sites. MVFR ceilings are possible for
a brief time period during the day for KLAF and KIND.

Convection is currently ongoing from Indianapolis eastward. Heavy
rain rate within thunderstorms will drop visibilities below VFR
for short periods of time. A cold front will approach the Indiana
border around 05Z, and will progress through all sites by 09Z.
Scattered thunderstorms are possible along this front. A surface
low will pass to the north during the day with pockets of MVFR to
the north and heavy winds/gusts. Gusts up to 40 kts at the surface
is possible.
