* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early
Monday morning to a crest of 9.2 feet Tuesday morning. It will
then fall below flood stage early next Saturday morning.
* Impact...At 9.0 feet, Flooding affects occur downstream of New
London. Several inches of flood waters surround sheds and garages
in lowland areas along Wolf River Drive in Fremont. There is
widespread lowland flooding downstream of New London.

Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Green Bay WI 405 AM CDT Sat Mar 14 2020 Forecast discussion for routine morning forecast issuance .SYNOPSIS... Issued at 359 AM CDT Sat Mar 14 2020 Quiet weather is expected through the middle of next week. Temperatures will not stray too far from seasonal normals. Blocking over the eastern Pacific will persist into the middle of next week and then gradually abate. Downstream, the flow across North America will remain split. Northwest upper flow downstream on the eastern flank of the block will maintain a feed of cold air from high latitudes into the far Northern Plains and across much of Canada throughout the period. But the southern stream will remain strong enough and far enough north to shunt the bitter cold east across Canada rather than allowing it to drive southeast into the CONUS. As a result, the forecast area will spend most of the period with quiet weather and on the southern flank of a series of anticyclones migrating east in the strong confluent zone near the U.S./Canadian border. Temperatures will undergo some variation, but for the most part should stay within 5-8F degrees from normal. The pattern will be unfavorable for significant precipitation through the middle of next week. A powerful southern stream cyclone is expected to eject northeast from the Southern Plains late next week. Precipitation totals for the period will be almost totally dependent upon what is generated by that system, and thus remain highly uncertain. && .SHORT TERM...Today...Tonight...and Sunday Issued at 359 AM CDT Sat Mar 14 2020 The first in a series of strong anticyclones (currently ~1050 mb over northern Alberta) was sliding south in the lee of the Canadian Rockies this morning. The anticyclone will shift south and rapidly build east beneath the strong upper confluent zone across southern Canada. The anticyclone will dominate our weather throughout the short-term portion of the forecast, bringing quiet conditions. Short-term forecast issues were primarily determining cloud trends and fine-tuning temperatures. High and some middle clouds with a southern stream shortwave heading northeast from the Plains will remain across the area today. Despite the latest ECMWF brushing east-central Wisconsin with light precip this afternoon, believe dry air with the Canadian anticyclone should halt the northward advance of precipitation before it can reach the area. This approach is supported by the radar mosaic indicating precipitation making very little northward advance during the past few hours. A fairly expansive low cloud deck over Upper Michigan, northern Lower Michigan, and adjacent portions of Ontario will probably make some progress to the southwest as low-level winds veer north and then northeast as the Canadian anticyclone builds into Ontario. The clouds will probably be augmented by Lake Michigan later tonight into Sunday. Some flurries are also possible, mainly over the north and eventually over the east. The clouds and continued weak cold advection will keep highs today a little colder than yesterday. Lows tonight are a little tricky across the north, because it will probably be close enough to the center of the anticyclone to lose the winds, and the high and middle clouds will pull out. If the low clouds also clear for a time, temperatures could still drop substantially as that area still has an appreciable snow cover. Edged mins across that area down to account for this possibility. Also edged maxes down a little Sunday as the entire area will still be dominated by the polar air mass, though partial sun should allow for a little more recovery--especially over east-central Wisconsin where the snow cover is gone. .LONG TERM...Sunday Night Through Friday Issued at 359 AM CDT Sat Mar 14 2020 A fairly zonal flow expected at 500mb through the middle of next week before a closed low across the southwest United States approaches the western Great Lakes by the end of the work week. This pattern change may result in a more significant storm next Thursday night into Friday night. For Sunday night, high pressure will continue to move away from the region. Return flow/warm advection will bring a chance of light snow to far north-central Wisconsin late Sunday night. On Monday, a cold front will drop southeast into northwest Wisconsin Monday afternoon bringing a chance of rain/snow to far north- central Wisconsin and rain across the rest of the area. The cold front will continue to drop southeast across the area Monday evening, bringing a continued chance of rain/snow north and rain elsewhere. High pressure will bring dry conditions on Tuesday under partly to mostly sunny skies. High temperatures should be in the 30s to lower 40s. High pressure will move east of the area Tuesday night, bringing mostly clear skies and colder temperatures. Low temperatures will range from around 10 above across the far north to the lower 20s from Shawano to Wautoma east to the lakeshore. Skies will start out mostly sunny Wednesday, with clouds on the increase throughout the day. Some timing differences noted among the models in how quick to bring precipitation into the area. The ECMWF run tonight is much quicker than the blended guidance, thus low confidence in the Wednesday portion of the forecast. Will hold off now on adding precipitation to this period. A bigger storm is brewing across the central plains on Thursday into Friday. The 00z ECMWF is much slower with system, bringing the more significant precipitation into the area until Thursday night. Will continue with the blended forecast for now since there is a lot of time to watch the system evolve. It appears that an accumulating snow is possible across much of the area Thursday night and Friday. Snow amounts uncertain at this time as the main system will pass well south of the area. It is also possible that convection to the south could rob some of the moisture with this storm. Stay tuned!
