* At 1045 PM MDT/1145 PM CDT/, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. As much as 10 inches
of rain has fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

COUNTIES IN SOUTHWESTERN NEBRASKA...
At 1253 AM MDT/153 AM CDT/, rain was beginning to decrease across
Cheyenne county Kansas and Dundy county Nebraska. However, as much
as 6 to 10 inches of rain has fallen across portions of the warned
area. U.S. Highway 34 has been closed from the Colorado border
eastward to Benkelman due to flooding. Flash flooding is already
occurring and is expected to continue for several more hours.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.
SOURCE...Law enforcement.
IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage
and low lying areas.
