* Flood stage is 20 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast to develop.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early 
  Monday morning and continue rising to a crest of 22.4 feet early 
  Tuesday afternoon.
* Impact...At 14 feet, the river comes out of its banks, but impacts 
  are limited.
* Impact...At 16 feet, timberlands begin to flood.
* Impact...At 19 feet, the river begins to cover Riverside Drive and 
  cutoff residents from their homes.
* Impact...At 20 feet, minor flooding of roads occurs on the south 
  side of Hawkinsville along Gooseneck Lane. With the flooding of 
  Gooseneck Lane, residents are cutoff from reaching their homes.
* Impact...At 20.5 feet, minor flooding of roads continues on the 
  south side of Hawkinsville along Gooseneck Lane. Water continues

SHORT TERM /Tonight through Sunday Night/...

Well football has started and the weather is cooperating fully in
telling us that fall has arrived in North and Central GA.
Unfortunately, we are getting the crystal blue sky one typically
sees with fall, but the temperatures are certainly on the nice
side with upper 60s to lower 70s the rule as interaction between
Appalachian wedge and Gulf tropical system and keeping NE flow
locked in. Dewpoints cooperating as well with drier air at the
surface working its way in from the Carolinas and lower 50s values
entering the state ending the low clouds across the area. Still an
abundance of high clouds to deal with though and should continue
for most of the overnight period.

A cool night in store for tonight with upper 40s making an
appearance over portions of NE GA if the high clouds begin to
clear as expected. Even lower 50s down to the metro is welcome
change compared to previous years at this time.

Looks like even a nicer day in store for Sunday as clouds clear
some, especially across the north but the dry and cool conditions
continue along with a light breeze as well. Went with the
consensus guidance which keeps us in the low to mid 80s except the
NW zones outside the wedge where upper 70s will be realized. Some
locations over the NE mountains may not get out of the low 60s.

LONG TERM /Monday through Saturday/...

Between Hurricane Teddy in the Atlantic and Tropical Storm Beta in
the Gulf, high pressure remains locked in place bringing clear skies
and temperatures below seasonal normal as we kick of the week. Highs
are expected to be in the mid to upper 70s with overnight lows in
50s. Some locations in higher elevations could see some overnight
lows in the mid to upper 40s.

While there is still some uncertainty regarding the track and
intensity of Tropical Storm Beta, the general consensus has been
that it is unlikely to have any significant impacts on our CWA. By
Thursday, tropical moisture from Beta will return to our area giving
us a chance of pops but mostly driving temps back up to seasonal as
the flow becomes more southerly.

Beyond the long term forecast, models have been in steady agreement
in regards to a deep upper level trough and the potential for a
significant cold front to sweep through the the eastern part of the
country. This could bring thunderstorms to the SE and the first real
taste of fall behind it.
