* At 10 AM Sunday the stage was 4.5 feet...and steady.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 12 feet.
* Forecast to rise above flood stage by after midnight tomorrow and
continue to rise to near 17 feet by tomorrow morning. The river
will fall below flood stage by late Tuesday morning.
* At 17 feet...Moderate flooding begins. Several small buildings
near the New England hang gliding recreation park begin to flood.
Several roads in Dade county will be closed including Sells Lane...
Mason Road...and Creek Road. The water will be several feet deep on
portions of these roads. Also moderate flooding will begin
downstream as the creek crosses the Tennessee border into the
Tiftona area. Several roads near the creek will be flooded and

* At 10 AM Tuesday the stage was 11.6 feet...and falling.
* Flood stage is 12 feet.
* The creek will continue to fall.
* At 12 feet...Flood Stage is reached and minor flooding begins.
Flooding begins along Sells Lane in Trenton...Mason Road near
Rising Fawn...and Creek Road near New England. In addition...minor
flooding of pasture and grazing land begins along the flood plain.
Minor flooding of the creek can also be expected much further
downstream as it crosses the Tennessee border into the Tiftona
area.

The main issue for the short term will be the severe weather event setting up for later today into tonight. A potent short wave developing in the Southern Plains will become negatively tilted as it moves through the OH/TN Valley area overnight. There should be some shower and thunderstorm development ahead of this system this morning and into the afternoon. Pops should be increasing across the forecast area during the day. The most favored time for severe thunderstorms should be this evening into the overnight...ahead of the surface front and upper low. Total QPF values from this morning through Monday afternoon are forecast to range from two to four inches across the far north...with one to two inches elsewhere. A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for the area roughly along and north of a Rome to Jasper to Cleveland line for this afternoon through Monday morning. A Wind Advisory remains in effect area wide generally for this same time period. Storms will exit the east central counties Monday morning with a few severe still possible. Expect all storms to be east of the forecast area late Monday afternoon. Some cooling is expected mainly northwest for Monday...but should remain warm elsewhere since we will continue with a west to southwest flow aloft. 41 .LONG TERM /Monday Night through Saturday/... Region remains under a fairly active and progressive pattern through the extended forecast period. Period starts out mainly dry behind the strong system impacting the area today through early Monday. A short wave sweeps along the gulf coast region Tuesday bringing rain chances back into the forecast area, especially the southern portion of the area. Instability is marginal at best with limited chances for thunder with this system. Mainly dry for the latter half of the work-week with rain chances increasing again next weekend as another wave approaches.
