* The river will continue rising, reaching near 22.8 feet by early
Thursday morning. The river is forecast to fall below flood stage
Sunday morning.
* At 21 feet, minor flooding expands with an increasing amount of the
Macon GreenWay Ocmulgee Heritage Trail flooding north of the Martin
Luther King Boulevard bridge. The flood waters will be up to two
feet deep on portions of the trail and both banks overflow upstream
from the bridge. Large portions of agricultural lands east of Macon
and well downstream will be under 1 to 4 feet of water.
At 23 feet, minor flooding expands further with large portions of
the Macon GreenWay Ocmulgee Heritage Trail flooded north of the
Martin Luther King Boulevard bridge. The flood waters will be up to
3 feet deep on portions of the trail. Large portions of agricultural
lands east of Macon and well downstream will be under up to 5 feet
of water.

Ferry Road boat ramp, just upstream and right bank from the Georgia
Highway 57 bridge, will be flooded.
At 17 feet, flood stage is reached. The water level reaches the top
of the Old Balls Ferry Road boat ramp, just upstream and rightbank
from the Georgia Highway 57 bridge. Minor flooding of the woodlands
near the river occurs.

* At 7AM Wednesday the stage was 22.6 feet...and
rising.
* Minor flooding is occurring.
* Flood stage is 18 feet.
* The river will continue rising to near 23.4 feet by after midnight
tomorrow. The river will fall below flood stage Saturday afternoon.
* At 23 feet...Minor flooding continues to expand. Large portions
of the Macon GreenWay Ocmulgee Heritage Trail floods north of the
Martin Luther King Boulevard bridge. The flood waters will be up to
3 feet deep on portions of the trail. Large portions of
agricultural lands east of Macon and well downstream will be under
1 to 5 feet of water.

UPDATE...
Current satellite imagery depicts a complex of showers and
thunderstorms associated with a shortwave moving through Alabama.
Current radar imagery shows the precipitation spanning portions
of eastern Alabama and western Georgia currently moving east
northeast into the local forecast area. These showers and
thunderstorms have the potential for heavy rain that could lead to
issues with flash flooding, especially with the already saturated
grounds from previous rainfall earlier this morning. Several
rivers have also already gone into flood and there's the potential
for addition river flooding in the overnight hours. In addition,
the Flash Flood Watch has been continued through Wednesday
morning. Also, areas of fog in addition to areas of patchy fog
have been present mainly across portions of central Georgia. Have
issued an SPS for dense fog through part of the overnight hours
but there may be a need for a Dense Fog Advisory at a later hour.

SHORT TERM /Tonight through Tuesday Night/...
A wet period of showers through the short term period expected. Models
are in good agreement showing the surface front across portions
of north GA through the period. Although the surface front will
waver north and south through the period, deep southwesterly flow
along the front will continue to pump good moisture across the
area. Latest radar loop showing isolated thunderstorms embedded
with the showers along the front over portions of AL and models
indicating some instability will remain across the front through
the overnight hours and tomorrow. Will continue slight chance of
thunder through the period. PWATs overnight will be in the 1.5-2
inches along the warm front and above 1 inch tomorrow and tomorrow
night, with locally heavy rainfall expected across already
saturated areas, there is a Flash Flood watch in effect through 7
am Wednesday.
Temps will range between 20 and 30 degrees above normal through
the period.

LONG TERM /Wednesday through Monday/...
Unsettled weather will persist through the period. Thursday night
and Friday will be the driest days within the long term portion of
the forecast.
Old frontal boundary is still situated across portions of north
Georgia early Wednesday. The front may try and push slightly north
of the state, ahead of the approaching cold front from the west, but
not confident on exactly how far north. Regardless, the highest
pops/QPF will be across the north Wednesday and Wednesday night. A
cold front will push south across the area later Wednesday night
into Thursday.
High pressure should briefly build in for Friday, but will quickly
push offshore by early Saturday ahead of the front. The front should
quickly push through on Saturday with high pressure building in for
the remainder of the weekend into early next week.
Very warm temperatures expected for much of the week with values
ranging from 20 to 30 degrees above normal through Wednesday. Temps
remain above normal through the end of the week, but range more in
the 10-15 degree range.

expected to continue moving eastward and away from the metro TAF
sites through the morning hours. Lower ceilings are reduced
visibilities are expected to redevelop at all sites as the large
area of precipitation moves off, with IFR/LIFR conditions in
place by 09Z through the morning hours before visibilities
improve and ceilings lift back to MVFR by 18-21Z in the afternoon
hours. Light, variable winds to start the period will become S-SW
at 4-8 kts by 12Z and through the remainder of the period.
