At 629 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Kansas City, or
near Edwardsville, moving east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Damage to vehicles is expected.

Locations impacted include...
Kansas City, Overland Park, Independence, Shawnee, Raytown, Liberty,
Gladstone, Prairie Village, Merriam, Mission, Bonner Springs,
Parkville, Edwardsville, North Kansas City, Fairway, Mission Hills,

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and has exited the warned area. Therefore, the warning will
be allowed to expire.  However small hail, gusty winds and heavy rain

Issued at 402 AM CDT MON AUG 31 2020

Patchy areas of elevated showers and thunderstorms have been
observed throughout the night in SE NE; however, the evolution has
not been as widespread as expected making predicting the coverage
of showers and thunderstorms difficult. IR satellite shows an
outflow boundary from thunderstorms in SE NE entering N KS. A
small LLJ nosing into E KS just ahead of the boundary and looks to
be the catalyst for convection. This boundary and any
accompanying convection makes its way into our area within the
next couple of hours.

The cold front is expected to stall out over the KC metro around
midday. The convective system traveling ahead of the front makes its
way into southern MO fueled by diurnally heated unstable air and
strong upper level divergence in that area. Resultant cold pools and
outflow from the exiting MCS may interact with the stationary
boundary triggering more precipitation during the late afternoon and
evening Monday.

Meanwhile, in the OK panhandle, a leeward mountain wave sets off
another area of precipitation which follows upper level steering
currents into our area during the day Tuesday.  Most of Tuesday
morning looks to be rainy with precipitation exiting the area during
the afternoon and evening hours. Wednesday looks to be drier;
however, some models are hinting at slight chances of rain for areas
south of the MO river during the early morning as another wave
passes by to the south of our CWA. The active weather pattern
continues for areas south of I-70 through the remainder of the week;
however, it is a welcome change to the stale baking 90 degree heat
of a couple weeks ago.

Issued at 1112 PM CDT SUN AUG 30 2020

VFR conds will prevail at the onset of the TAF pd however, models
are suggesting IFR cigs will move into the TAF sites btn 08Z-10Z.
A cold front is expected to move through the terminals btn 13Z-
14Z bringing a line of thunderstorms into the terminals. These storms
will lift cigs to MVFR btn 1-2kft as well as reduce vsbys to 4SM-
5SM. Storms are expected to move S of the TAF sites by 18Z
however some showers may remain in the area with cigs lifting back
to VFR btn 3-4kft. Winds will be out of the SSE btn 5-10kts ahead
of the front but will veer to the north behind the front and
remain around 10kts.

west central Missouri...as well as extreme eastern Kansas.

 Thunderstorms are expected across eastern Kansas and western
Missouri through the morning. Some storms could be strong to severe
with 40 to 60 mph winds and 1 inch hail all possible, along with
heavy rain. Minor flooding will be possible.

At 518 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Riverton, or 21 miles northwest of Tarkio, moving east at 40 mph.

Penny size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with
this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Tarkio, Burlington Junction, Clearmont, Elmo, Braddyville, Westboro,
Watson and Blanchard.

This includes Interstate 29 between mile markers 113 and 123.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
