.SYNOPSIS...
Atlantic high pressure will gradually build in this weekend
into early next week. A cold front will drop into the area
during the middle to latter part of next week.

&&

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM SATURDAY MORNING/...
Scattered showers/tstms have developed across much of the region
this afternoon ahead of a weak lobe of vorticity rounding the
east side the upper trough to the west. Convection has generally
concentrated along the sea breeze and outflow boundaries with
updrafts being occasionally augmented where boundaries collide
and interact. Convection will linger for the remainder of the
afternoon and into early this evening before slowly diminishing
as instability wanes with the loss of heating. Elevated hail and
downdraft CAPE values will support a risk for isolated damaging
winds and/or large hail events through sunset. Lows will range
from the upper 60s inland with lower 70s at the coast with mid
70s at the beaches.

.SHORT TERM /6 AM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH MONDAY/...
The area will largely remain under the influence of Atlantic high
pressure through the period, although a weak trough will linger
inland. Aloft, heights will gradually build as the persistent trough
over the eastern CONUS finally shifts off the coast. This set-up
will favor a typical summertime pattern, with isolated to scattered
showers and thunderstorms possible, primarily in the afternoon and
evenings. Coverage looks to be highest on Saturday. Overall, the
threat for organized severe weather is low, but as typical this time
of year, a few brief strong to severe storms are not out of the
question. High temperatures in the upper 80s/around 90 on Saturday
will warm to the low/mid 90s by Monday. Lows will be within a few
degrees of normal.

.LONG TERM /MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/...
A broad upper level trough will affected the area during the
middle part of next week, pushing a cold front into the area.
Fairly good coverage of showers and tstms expected, especially
Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will cool down slightly.

.AVIATION /19Z FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
VFR for much of the period. Best chances for tstm impacts at
KCHS will be from 22-02z and 18-22z at KSAV. There is still
enough timing/coverage uncertainties at this point to maintain
a mention of VCTS at both sites and not introduce either a
prevailing or TEMPO group.

Extended Aviation Outlook: Mainly VFR. Brief flight restrictions are
possible in afternoon/evening showers and tstms.

.MARINE...
Tonight: There are no concerns southeast winds will gradually
veer to the southwest and west overnight with speeds less than
10 kt. Seas will average 1-3 ft.

Saturday through Wednesday: High pressure centered east of the
waters will be the primary feature this weekend through much of next
week. South to southwest winds will prevail much of time with speeds
15 knots or less. Seas will average 2-3 feet, perhaps up to 4 ft at
times in the outer portions of the marine zones.

.TIDES/COASTAL FLOODING...
Tide levels in Charleston Harbor are expected to peak 6.7-6.9 ft
MLLW. This is just below Coastal Flood Advisory criteria. Given
the marginal nature of this event and onshore winds are still
fairly light, A Coastal Flood Advisory will not be issued.

Above normal water levels expected through early next week,
primarily due to the upcoming new moon. There is a low
probability for minor coastal flooding during the evening high
tides along the South Carolina coast, especially near
Charleston.

Severe Thunderstorms: Scattered showers and thunderstorms are
expected to develop across Southeast South Carolina and Southeast
Georgia this afternoon and evening. A few of these thunderstorms will
be capable of producing damaging winds and large hail. The risk for
severe thunderstorms will be the greatest between 2 PM and 9 PM.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Coastal Flooding: The upcoming new moon and a slight increase in
swells will contribute to elevated tide levels into early next week.
There is a low probability for minor coastal flooding during the
evening high tides along the South Carolina coast, especially near
Charleston.
