At 918 AM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Oxbow, or 26 miles north of Patten, moving east at 40 mph. Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail are possible with this storm. Locations impacted include... Houlton, Bridgewater, Smyrna, Masardis, Oxbow, Dudley Township, Scopan, Littleton, Monticello, Ludlow, Merrill, Dudley, Webbertown, Grand Lake Seboeis, Saint Croix, Number Nine Mountain and Moro Plantation. This includes the following highways... US Highway 1 between Littleton and Bridgewater. State Highway 11 near Knowles Corner. Heavy downpours may cause ponding of water on roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
