...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 145 PM EST FOR
NORTHWESTERN LINCOLN AND NORTHERN MCCORMICK COUNTIES...
    
At 127 PM EST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located near Bobby Brown State Park, or 15 miles southwest of
Abbeville, moving northeast at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage 
         to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is 
         likely.

Locations impacted include...
McCormick, Hickory Knob State Resort Park, Gill's Point, Bordeaux,
Hester's Ferry Campground, Broad River Campground, Mount Carmel,
Baker Creek State Park, Leroy's Ferry Recreation Area, Willington,
Curry Hill, Mount Carmel Park, Chennault and Long Cane Creek Picnic
Area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

Report tornadoes, large hail, damaging winds or flooding directly to

was located near Troy, or 10 miles south of Abbeville, moving
northeast at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage 
         to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is 
         likely.

...THE TORNADO WARNING FOR NORTHWESTERN LINCOLN AND NORTHERN
MCCORMICK COUNTIES HAS EXPIRED...
    
The tornado threat has diminished and the Tornado Warning has been
cancelled. However, large hail and damaging winds remain likely and a
Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect for the area.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EST for east central
Georgia...and central South Carolina.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
Columbia.
