This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of western New York.

Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Snow showers across the region on Wednesday could be briefly heavy
and could be accompanied by wind gusts of 30 to 35 mph. These snow
squalls could produce brief periods of very poor visibility.

A sharp frontal zone will stall near the Lower Great Lakes Friday
night through Saturday night. Several waves of low pressure will move
along this front and combine with copious amounts of moisture to
produce heavy precipitation across Western and North Central New
York.

Confidence is fairly high on heavy precipitation occuring, however
there is a high degree of uncertainty with regards to temperatures.
If temperatures remain warm enough for most of the precipitation to
fall as rain, flooding may be possible. If colder air near the
surface move into our region, significant amounts of wintry
precipitation will be possible.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Lake snows will become established over the area tonight. This will
result in accumulations of 1 to 3 inches.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Accumulating lake snows will continue on Wednesday. Total 24 hour
accumulations of 4-6 inches will be possible in the most persistent
bands across higher terrain. Wind gusts of 30 to 35 may accompany
some of the bursts of snow and this would result in areas of very
poor visibility.

A sharp frontal zone will stall near the Lower Great Lakes Friday
night through Saturday night. Several waves of low pressure will move
along this front and combine with copious amounts of moisture to
produce heavy precipitation across Western and North Central New
York.

Confidence is fairly high on heavy precipitation occuring, however
there is a high degree of uncertainty with regards to temperatures.
If temperatures remain warm enough for most of the precipitation to
fall as rain, flooding may be possible. If colder air near the

Wednesday evening. The combination of strong onshore flow, high
waves, and high water levels may bring an increased risk of
lakeshore flooding along the Lake Ontario shore.

along this front and combine with copious amounts of moisture to
produce heavy precipitation across Western and North Central New
York.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Lake effect snows will once again develop tonight. Accumulations of
up to 2 inches will be possible on the Tug Hill by Wednesday morning.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Accumulating lake snows will persist on Wednesday. Total 24 hour
accumulations will range from 3 to 6 inches with the highest amounts
found near and on the Tug Hill plateau. Some of the heavier snow
showers could be accompanied by wind gusts of 30 to 35 which would
greatly reduce the visibility.
