...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT CENTRAL CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY...

At 337 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Mayville, or 13
miles southwest of Fredonia, moving northeast at 20 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph are possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Dunkirk, Fredonia, Westfield, Lakewood, Mayville, Long Point State
Park, Chautauqua Institution, Lake Erie State Park, SUNY Fredonia,
Chautauqua, Portland, Sheridan, Stockton, Gerry, Brocton, Arkwright,
Forestville, Cassadaga, Sinclairville and Bemus Point.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 90 near exit 59.
 Interstate 86 between exits 8 and 10.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

If you are on or near Chautauqua Lake, get out of the water and move
indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to
10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you
are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter
now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT EAST CENTRAL CATTARAUGUS AND
NORTHWESTERN ALLEGANY COUNTIES...

At 412 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Belfast, or 14
miles northwest of Wellsville, moving northwest at 10 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph and half inch hail are possible with this
storm.

Locations impacted include...
Franklinville, Belfast, Cuba, Rushford, Houghton, Caneadea,
Friendship, Angelica, Lyndon, Black Creek and Hardy Corners.

This includes Interstate 86 between exits 28 and 31.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
