Very warm temperatures are expected this afternoon with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Localized heat index values will be near 95 across the urban areas of the Champlain and Saint Lawrence Valleys. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected across the northern Adirondacks and parts of the central and northern mountains in Vermont this afternoon. Any storm that develops will be capable of localized heavy rainfall, brief gusty winds, and frequent lightning. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday. Additional showers and thunderstorms are likely on Friday into Friday night across the North Country. These storms will have the potential to produce localized very heavy rainfall in a short period of time and isolated gusty winds. Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail are possible with this storm. Locations impacted include...
