...STRONG THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPING OVER FRANKLIN, HAMPSHIRE, WESTERN
HAMPDEN AND NORTHERN WORCESTER COUNTY...

At 951 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Chester, or 12 miles west of Northampton, moving northeast at 65 mph.

Pea size hail and winds in excess of 30 mph will accompany this
storm. Heavy downpours could also produce localized urban poor
drainage flooding.

Locations impacted include...
Amherst, Northampton, Greenfield, Orange, Deerfield, Gardner,
Easthampton, Athol, Winchendon, Montague, Templeton, Westminster,
Ashburnham, Southampton, Hadley, Hubbardston, Sunderland, Hatfield,
Northfield and Williamsburg.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Get indoors when this storm approaches. Winds may be strong enough to
produce minor damage, such as a few downed branches.

Frequent lightning was occurring. Lightning can strike far away from
