.SYNOPSIS FOR NORTHWEST COAST...
High pressure over mainland Alaska extends W over the Chukchi Sea
to a 1039 mb high over Yakutia. A weather front over the Western 
Arctic will move to the Northwest Arctic Coast Mon morning and 
stalls over the Arctic Coast through Tue. A 952 dam low near 
Kiska will move to 200 nm SW of Adak by Mon morning at 962 mb as 
a 971 mb low develops along the weather front N of Atka and moves
to 150 nm NW of the Pribilofs. The front will lie from the low 
NE into the Lower Yukon Delta Mon morning. The front will slide 
N Mon to lie from St Matthew Island to Galena to Nenana as the 
low S of the Aleutians moves NE over Atka into the Bering Sea.

.SYNOPSIS...
Cold temperatures and cold wind chills continue through the
weekend for the Interior and North Slope then a warming trend
begins over much of the state on Monday. A strong front ahead of
a very deep low moving into the Southern Bering will bring snow
and blowing snow over much of the YK Delta, and lower Yukon Valley
and Strong winds and blowing snow to St. Lawrence Island Sunday
and Monday.

.DISCUSSION...
Aloft 500 mb...Zonal flow over the state through Sunday then
a deepening trough over the Bering will develop on Monday along
with ridging over the Mainland. Southwest flow will continue into
Tuesday. A 480 dam low will remain over the high Arctic through
Tuesday.

Surface...A low pressure trough stretches from the Chukchi Sea south
to a 1002 MB low in the Central Bering Sea. The trough will move
east over the West Coast of Alaska tonight. A strong front will
push through the west coast Sunday afternoon into Monday.

West Coast and Western Interior...A strong front will bring strong
winds, snow and blowing snow to the southern West coast Sunday
afternoon into Monday. Winds along the coast and on Saint Lawrence
Island will gust to 60 mph. Snow will also spread across the
Yukon Delta Sunday into Monday. Snowfall amounts will range from 4
to 8 inches with local amounts up to a foot in the Nulato Hills.
The heaviest snow will be from Galena south. Winter storm warnings
are in effect for zones 212, 213, 214, 215 and 216.

Arctic Coast and Brooks Range...A low pressure trough continues over
the Eastern Brooks Range while a weak ridge of high pressure
remains over the Western Interior. A low pressure trough extending
north through the Bering Strait from a 1002 mb low over the
Central Bering Sea move north and east will move through the
Bering Strait and into the Southern Chukchi Sea late tonight and
Sunday. Gusty winds combined with low temperatures continue to
produce low wind chill values through Saturday night.

Interior...Temperatures around the Interior will remain cold
through Sunday before a warm up early next week. Main concern
will be the winds increasing along Alaska Range mainly in the
passes. Strong winds gusting to 60 mph on Sunday with blowing snow
and low visibility and low wind chills. Winter weather advisories
are out for the Alaska Range.
