  and Sunday morning before decreasing mid-day Sunday.

.SYNOPSIS...An unsettled pattern will keep cooler temperatures
along with bouts of gusty winds and light precipitation chances
across the region into next week.
&&

.UPDATE...A band of light precipitation continues to move across the
NNSS and into Lincoln County, northern Clark and and northern Mohave
Counties ahead of a weak impulse. The best opportunity for rain will
be over Lincoln County and the Sheep Range of Clark County through
the afternoon hours. An isolated thunderstorm can not be ruled out.
I have made minor adjustments to the Sky and PoP forecast through
the early evening hours. Most precipitation is expected to be quite
light. Elsewhere, the wind advisory for western San Bernardino
County will expire at 10 am PDT. Winds have been trending downward
but an occasional gust around 40 mph or so will be possible into the
early afternoon hours.

.DISCUSSION...through Thursday.

Last of the showers exited far northeast Mohave County by 1 am MST.
However, Ely and Elko continue to observe light snow. Satellite
shows a few clouds lingering across northern Mohave, Inyo and
Esmeralda Counties, otherwise skies are clear.

Threat for additional significant snow accumulations in the southern
Sierra of Inyo County has passed so will cancel the warning. It
looks like gusts in excess of 40 mph will continue into the morning
hours across the western Mojave Desert so extended the advisory
through 10 am PDT.

Elsewhere Today: Impulse seen of WV imagery over western Nevada
progged to slide ESE across eastern Nevada today. This will produce
scattered rain/snow along with a slight chance of thunderstorms to
Lincoln County. Less wind and cool temps elsewhere.

Saturday will bring warmer temps as a ridge transitions east across
the Great Basin. Clouds will be on the increase during the afternoon
as the next trough nears.

Precipitation will break out along the southern Sierra Nevada
Saturday night as next abnormally deep, cold trough moves into
California. The precipitation along with gusty winds will spread
east encompassing the southern Great Basin and Mojave Desert Sunday.
Additional snow accumulations likely for the eastern Sierra Slopes
above 7000 feet Saturday night and Sunday.

Monday-Thursday: Cool and unsettled weather will continue as
unseasonably strong trough for late May remains locked in place over
the western CONUS.

.AVIATION...For McCarran...Light winds are expected through the
morning before winds become northwest around 10kts early this
afternoon. Gusts up to 20kts are possible, however confidence is low
that gusts will develop. By sunset, winds will turn west to
southwest and decrease slightly to around 8kts. Typical diurnal
patterns return by Saturday morning. A few scattered clouds are
possible this afternoon around 10kft, however cloud cover is not
anticipated to be an issue through the period.

For the rest of southern Nevada, northwest Arizona and southeast
California...Gusty west winds to around 30kts will continue near DAG
through the early afternoon before decreasing to around 25kts later
this afternoon. This should continue through around midnight before
gusts finally drop off and lighter winds 10-15kts persist into
Saturday. Elsewhere, winds should be lighter than they were
yesterday Winds down the Colorado River Valley will be tricky and
low confidence in this afternoons wind forecast. Decided to keep
previous forecast for now. VFR FEW to SCT clouds are likely at times
and it should be dry through the period.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...Unseasonably settled weather
continues into next week with bouts of gusty winds and
precipitation chances. Spotter activation is not anticipated at
this time, however, spotters are encouraged to report any
significant weather or impacts such as wind damage.
