Mesoscale Discussion 1421
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
1013 PM CDT Mon Jul 08 2019

Areas affected...Northern MN

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 501...

Valid 090313Z - 090515Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 501
continues.

SUMMARY...Strong storms will spread southeast across ww501 over the
next few hours. Gusty winds are the primary threat.

DISCUSSION...Expanding cold pool across eastern ND/northwest MN
should contribute to southeast movement of upper Red River Valley
squall line. This cluster of storms has matured into a healthy MCS
that should persist into the early-morning hours as it sags
southeast across ww501. Veered LLJ should aid this movement and
gusty winds are the primary threat.
