Winds have gone below criteria the last few hours and as such we
are dropping the warning which was due to expire at 7am. Winds 
will still be breezy and relatively gusty with anticipated gusts

.SYNOPSIS...
Tranquil weather today under high pressure. Clouds, showers and
winds will increase Thursday as a cold front crosses. Another
strong frontal system for the weekend into early next week.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
As of 1030 AM Tuesday...

No changes needed for today through this evening with a rather
nice late November date already unfolding. Upper level
cloudiness increases this afternoon with rain overspreading the
region during the overnight. Main concern with this system will
be windy to very windy conditions with a 60-70KT low level jet
developing by Wednesday morning as widespread precipitation
tapers off. These winds should initially struggle to transfer
their momentum to the surface under warm air advection, but
models do hint at rapid clearing with relatively deep
convective mixing (for late November) tapping into higher wind
speeds aloft prior to arrival of a cold front. With arrival of
the cold front will see much more effective momentum transfer
via a combination of cold air and a potential line of showers
immediately ahead of the front. Winds aloft do begin to slacken
by this time, so would expect a fairly narrow window of winds
approaching advisory criteria for the lowlands a couple hours
ahead and behind the front while windy to very windy conditions
may continue in the mountains of WV through Wednesday night.

Will be evaluating potential for wind advisories and perhaps
even a couple high wind warnings for the highest elevations with
the afternoon package.

As of 510 AM Tuesday...

I was inclined to modify temperatures to match current
observations and trends as temps are slightly colder than
anticipated at various locations. Otherwise, the forecast
remains on track.

As of 325 AM Tuesday...

Today, southerly flow will draw in warm and moist air and
combined with high pressure will help temperatures climb into
the low to mid 60's by this afternoon. Mostly clear skies turn
to cloudy by this evening due to mid and high clouds spreading
across the area in response to a cold frontal boundary
approaching from the west. This feature will progressively
lower cloud heights and increase chances of rain starting around
midnight tonight. Tonights lows will be anomalously higher than
average with most locations not falling below 45 degrees
although the mountains should be at least a few degrees cooler.
With strong steering flow in place the feature will spread rain
across the area quickly along with increasing winds
substantially. Likely rain showers will takeover most of the
area by mid-morning along with gusty winds reaching as high as
30mph areawide.

.SHORT TERM /WEDNESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT/...
As of 421 AM Tuesday...

Surface Low pressure system lift from the southern plains,
northeast reaching the Great Lakes region early Wednesday.
Models suggest some intensification Wednesday afternoon.  An
associated cold front will cross west to east Wednesday
afternoon, spreading showers and gusty winds. Model consensus in
isentropic surface 285K shows cold front packing 35 knots at
the surface Wednesday.

While in the warm sector, temperatures will rise in the upper
60s lowlands and into th upper 40s highest elevations on
Wednesday. However, strong cold advection behind the front will
produce a drastic change in temperatures dropping into the mid
40s for highs Thursday afternoon.

Heaviest rain still looks to be across the mid Ohio Valley
region. Cold front exits to the east of the mountains by mid to
late afternoon Thursday, with cooler air filtering into the
region behind the front. Wind advisory may be needed for wind
gust up or exceeding 40 knots.  Will keep the mention for this
in the HWO.

.LONG TERM /FRIDAY THROUGH MONDAY/...
As of 421 AM Tuesday...

Relatively tranquil weather expected on Thanksgiving Day, while
another surface low pressure tracks from the southern plains,
northeast into the Great region by late Friday afternoon. Pcpn
becomes widespread Friday evening. Strong southerly flow out
ahead of the system will mean most precipitation will start out
in the form of rain, but there is a possibility for colder
weather and snow to round out the weekend/into early next week
as moisture wraps around the departing low.

.AVIATION /16Z TUESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY/...
As of 630 AM Tuesday...

This morning most fog development was suppressed although just
a little valley fog resides just north of CRW and down near
BKW. Today, the area will experience weaker southerly flow and
mostly clear skies along with VFR into tonight. Mid to high
clouds will be on the rise later today into the evening with
flow starting to pick up in response to a surface low
approaching to the northeast and stronger upper level flow
moving in as well. This will also bring in lower clouds fairly
quick and cause CIGs to progressively decrease through the
overnight. By early morning Wednesday we can expect borderline
MVFR CIGs and also showers to be on the increase moving in from
the west.

Model guidance hints at fog developing in the mountains
overnight suggesting EKN/BKW may see MVFR visibility along with
HTS/PKB as the rain enters the area. Winds will be on the rise
and by the late Wednesday morning gusty conditons will spread
across the area with all TAF sites potentially seeing up to
30KT gusts by this time frame and will continue to increase
through the day. Low level wind shear will be a slight factor
and even though it will be windy at the SFC, winds have
potential to be a lot stronger in the boundary layer with a
vigorous low level jet setting up. As such, added shear to the
BKW TAF, other may have to be added in the later shift.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE AND ALTERNATE SCENARIOS THROUGH 18Z WEDNESDAY...

FORECAST CONFIDENCE: High.

ALTERNATE SCENARIOS: Ceilings may be lower if stratus
materializes ahead of the cold front early morning on
Wednesday (low probability). Also, IFR VIS is possible under a
heavier shower.
