This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central North Carolina. .DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight. Please listen to NOAA Weather Radio or go to weather.gov on the Internet for more information about the following hazards. Severe Thunderstorm Watch. Thunderstorms this afternoon into this evening will pose a primary risk of damaging wind gusts, with some hail in the most intense storms. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday. The approach of a slow-moving upper level system interacting with a stationary frontal zone across the region will bring wet and unsettled weather conditions Friday through early next week. The potential for multiple days of moderate to heavy rainfall will result in an increased threat for flash flooding, especially west of the Triangle. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation may be needed.

At 500 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from near Bailey to 7 miles west
of Fremont to 11 miles northwest of Mount Olive. Movement was east at
30 mph.
Wind gusts up to 40 mph will be possible with these storms.
Locations impacted include...
Goldsboro, Wilson, Fremont, Walnut Creek, Kenly, Princeton, Lucama,
Stantonsburg, Black Creek and Pikeville.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Seek shelter in a nearby building or vehicle. Wind gusts as high as
40 mph are capable of knocking down tree limbs and blowing around
trash cans, potted plants, lawn furniture and other light outdoor
objects.

At 504 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Nashville, moving east at 35 mph.
Pea size hail and wind gusts up to 45 mph will be possible with this
storm.
Locations impacted include...
Rocky Mount, Tarboro, Nashville, Dortches, Red Oak, Enfield,
Sharpsburg, Spring Hope, Whitakers and Speed.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Seek shelter in a nearby building or vehicle. Wind gusts as high as
45 mph are capable of knocking down small or weakened trees and
blowing around trash cans, potted plants, lawn furniture and other
light outdoor objects.
Cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning
can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter
inside a building or vehicle.
