The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has cancelled the
Coastal Flood Advisory.
Tides over the past cycle have been lower than initially forecast
so while there may be tidal waters approaching roadways the
expectation is that no additional flooding will occur thus we've
cancelled the Flood Advisory for Mercer, Northern Burlington and
Lower Bucks counties.

.SYNOPSIS...
An area of low pressure will continue to strengthen as it
remains anchored off of the Mid Atlantic coast through the end
of the week. A cold front is expected to move across the area
later Saturday or early Sunday, pushing the low away from the
coast. Another area of low pressure may develop along this front
just to our south and move offshore late Sunday into Monday.
Another cold front may cross the area on Wednesday.

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM THURSDAY MORNING/...
The surface low was centered about 350 miles off the Delaware
coast this evening. It is expected to strengthen slightly
overnight and it should move very little.
Meanwhile, the mid level low that passed overhead this
afternoon was off the coast this evening, linking with the
surface low. The featured helped to enhance today's rainfall.
The remaining light rain and drizzle in our region this evening
should continue to dissipate overnight. The sky is forecast to
remain mostly cloudy.
The wind should be from the north and northeast around 10 MPH.
Temperatures will range mainly from the middle 40s to the lower
50s.

.SHORT TERM /6 AM THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH 6 PM THURSDAY/...
Thursday will feel like a wash, rinse, repeat kind of day as
the offshore low remains nearly stationary, although it may
retrograde to the west slightly. Overall, expect similar
conditions to occur on Thursday as occurred today with gusty
northeast winds (gusts around 25 to 35 mph possible) and
occasional showers. Best chances for rain will be across New
Jersey, mainly the northeastern areas although amounts still
look to remain fairly light with around a quarter of an inch or
so possible in some areas.

.LONG TERM /THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
The main focus in the long term period continues to be the low
pressure system that will be anchored offshore of the Mid
Atlantic region through the end of the week. This low will
pinwheel offshore of New Jersey and Delaware through Friday,
shifting a little each day, but not significantly until Saturday
as a cold front approaches the area. With the low being
offshore of the area, and strengthening at times, winds will be
gusty across the area, reaching 25-35 mph, with coastal areas
possibly reaching 35-40 mph at times Thursday through Friday.
There may also be enough moisture and lift across the area for
some periods of light rain showers to affect the area,
especially the northeastern half of New Jersey.
As we go into Saturday, a cold front will be approaching the
area from the west, which will help push the low pressure out to
sea. The front will move across the area overnight into Sunday
morning. There will be a chance of showers associated with the
front, although the moisture and lift associated with the front
weaken as it moves eastward, so chances are not very high at
this time.
The front will push offshore and south of the area through
Sunday, and most areas will be dry as weak high pressure may
affect the area. However, an area of low pressure may develop to
our south along the boundary, bringing rain just to the south
of Delaware Sunday night into Monday. The rest of the area will
remain dry into Monday.
A narrow window of high pressure is forecast for Tuesday. Low
pressure and a frontal boundary could affect the region on
Wednesday as a mid-level trough deepens across Eastern Canada
and the Northeastern U.S.

.AVIATION /02Z THURSDAY THROUGH MONDAY/...
The following discussion is for KPHL, KPNE, KTTN, KABE, KRDG,
KILG, KMIV, KACY and surrounding areas.
Overnight...Mainly VFR ceilings for KPHL, KILG, KPNE, KTTN,
KABE and KRDG. IFR ceilings lifting to MVFR, then to VFR at KACY
and KMIV. Lingering showers and drizzle dissipating. Northeast
to north wind 5 to 10 knots.
Thursday...VFR with MVFR conditions possible in rain/showers.
Northeast winds will continue with speeds around 10 to 20 knots
with gusts around 20 to 30 knots at times. Higher gusts expected
along the coast.
Outlook...
Thursday night through Friday night...Periods of MVFR
conditions likely with a chance of rain for much of New Jersey.
Winds remain out of the northeast with gusts 20-30 knots, with
stronger winds near the coast.
Saturday...MVFR conditions may continue into Saturday. Winds
become variable for a time, then shift to the west or northwest
late in the day.
Saturday night...MVFR possible early in the night, then improve
to VFR. Wind shift northwest behind a cold front.
Sunday...VFR conditions expected. Northwest winds 5-10 knots.
Monday...VFR conditions expected. South winds 5-10 knots.

.MARINE...
Small Craft Advisory remains in effect for the Upper Delaware
Bay through Friday night. A Gale Warning remains in effect for
the Lower Delaware Bay through Friday and up on the ocean waters
through Friday night.
Overnight...Northeast winds around 15 to 25 knots with gusts to
35 knots will continue overnight on the ocean waters and Lower
Delaware Bay. There may be a lull in the winds overnight but
expect winds to kick back up again towards morning. Seas are
already around 10 to 15 feet and will remain elevated as long as
the offshore low pressure system remains nearby.
Gusts on the lower Delaware Bay are expected to remain below 30
knots.
Thursday...The Gale Warning continues through Thursday for the
ocean waters and the Lower Delaware Bay with small craft
conditions continuing on the Upper Delaware Bay. Northeast winds
with gusts of 35 to 40 knots are expected. Seas around 10 to 15
feet.
Outlook...
Thursday night through Friday night...Gale warning in effect.
Northeast winds expected to gust 35-40 knots around low pressure
offshore of the east coast.
Saturday through Sunday...Winds drop to Small Craft Advisory
levels or lower. However, seas could remain elevated through
Sunday, especially first half of day.
Monday...Sub-SCA conditions expected.

.TIDES/COASTAL FLOODING...
A prolonged northeast surface flow will continue across the
area as an ocean storm intensifies off the coast and drifts
slowly northeastward through this weekend. With the combination
of this lengthy duration of strong onshore flow, building seas,
and increasing proximity to the full moon on 13 October (i.e.,
high astronomical tides), expecting several cycles of at least
minor coastal flooding to occur through this weekend on the
Atlantic coast and on Delaware Bay.
High tides this evening and tomorrow morning: A coastal flood
advisory remains in effect for the New Jersey coast from Ocean
County southward, for the Delaware coast, and for coastal areas
of Delaware Bay. Minor flooding is expected for these two high
tide cycles. For coastal Middlesex/Monmouth Counties, any
flooding would be quite localized, not warranting an advisory at
this point.
High tides Thursday night and Friday morning: A coastal flood
watch remains in effect for all of the New Jersey and Delaware
coasts as well as coastal locations along Delaware Bay.
Widespread moderate flooding is possible, and cannot rule out a
couple spots reaching major flood stage. Main question is if
winds will become oriented more parallel to the coast, which may
mitigate a more significant flooding event. Additionally, minor
flooding may occur on the tidal Delaware River.
High tide Friday night: A coastal flood watch is in effect for
Ocean County southward on the New Jersey coast, for the Delaware
coast, and for coastal sections of Delaware Bay. Another round
of moderate flooding is possible. For coastal Middlesex/Monmouth
Counties, minor flooding is possible.
