.Due to upstream water releases, the Cumberland River at Clarksville is hovering 
at or slightly under flood stage and will continue to do so through Wednesday. 
Levels will remain above action stage and vary less than half of a foot on 
either side of flood stage through mid week, before falling slightly on 
Thursday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Avoid flooded areas along the river...And move personal belongings to higher 
ground. Never drive through flooded roads as the depth of water may be too great

  Visco dr, and Rolling Hills Dr. Backwater effects are also causing flooding on
  Mill Creek near the East Haven townhomes. Water also begins to flood Cornelia 
  Fort Airpark, the Vinny Links Golf Course, and areas near Driftwood St and 
  Stanley St.
* At 43.0 feet...Properties on Davidson St, Nestor St, and Visco Dr continue to 
  be flooded with water approaching structures in some areas. Water begins to 
  approach property on River Hills Dr.

  Greenway Bridge in Shelby Bottoms Park to the I-24 bridge near downtown. This 
  includes the ballfields and other areas in Shelby Bottoms Park, and properties

  effects also begin to cause flooding on Mill Creek up to near Lebanon Pike.
* At 40.0 feet...Portions of Shelby Bottoms Park are inundated, mainly near the 
  ball fields and along the greenway trails near the river. Water begins to

Rain had spread across the entire Mid State as of 8 AM CST.
Temperatures were mostly in the chilly upper 30s. These rainy,
chilly conditions will continue through the day.

The heaviest rainfall today will occur south of our area, near
the path of a low pressure system. The low was near Jackson, MS
this morning and will move to the NC coast by this evening. This
path will keep Middle Tennessee rainfall amounts under 1 inch
today.

Just to our northwest, some snowflakes were already falling over
western KY. Enough of this cold air will seep into our northwest
counties to bring some snowflakes down to Dover and Clarksville
today. Mid 30s surface temps will keep it from accumulating any
more than a light dusting on the grass.

For this evening, the rapidly departing low pressure system will
pull most of the precipitation off to the east, while cold air
sweeps in from the northwest. The moisture and cold will meet
just long enough to produce some evening snowflakes across the
area. Most places will have no accumulation, but a few spots
along and north of I-40 may pick up a quick little dusting. The
Upper Cumberland could have a little better than a dusting in some
spots, but less than 1 inch. The departing moisture and brisk
north winds will help dry the roads, but some lingering patches
of drizzle or mist could freeze late tonight. This will be a
travel concern mainly for our far northern counties and Upper
Cumberland Region.

Most shocking will be the coldest air we have felt in almost a
month. Monday morning temperatures will be mainly low to mid 20s
with wind chills in the teens. Highs tomorrow will reach only the
low to mid 30s- around 20 degrees colder than normal!

We will issue a Special Weather Statement to address the localized
travel concerns tonight and the incoming cold blast.

18Z TAF DISCUSSION.

The main shield of rain affecting Middle Tennessee terminals will
come to an end during the afternoon hours from west to east. Some
sleet/snow reports have been received from upstream of CKV, so
expect a transition to a wintry mix for a few hours before it
wraps up at CKV. Some light drizzle/freezing drizzle could linger
especially at CSV overnight. IFR/MVFR cigs were left in longer
than models are indicating due to the difficulty of scouring out
low level moisture. Winds will turn to the northwest at all
terminals this afternoon and increase to 10 kts with some gusts
near 20 kts.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Middle
Tennessee.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Many area rivers will continue either in flood or very
elevated...but improvement will continue.

Total rainfall amounts through tonight will range from just
over one quarter of an inch across the Land Between the Lakes
Region to just less than an inch for locations approaching the
Tennessee/Alabama Border and Southern Cumberland Plateau Regions.
This total rainfall amount may have a small affect on area
rivers.

One to two tenths of snowfall accumulation may be possible
across the Cumberland Plateau Region tonight. Although a
rain/snow mixture is expected beginning late morning northwest
portions and spreading across the remainder of the mid state
region during the evening and overnight hours, no significant
wintry or snowfall accumulations are expected otherwise.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

Ongoing river flooding will continue over the next several days...
but improvements are expected to continue.
