Carolina...east Tennessee and southwest Virginia.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

A couple of strong to marginally severe storms will be possible
this afternoon and early evening with gusty winds being the main
threat. Heavy rainfall and localized flash flooding could be
possible this afternoon with any stronger storms.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

NO hazardous weather is expected at this time.

At 549 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Jonesville, moving east at 20 mph.

Pea size hail and winds in excess of 45 mph will be possible with
this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Jonesville, Big Stone Gap, Pennington Gap, Appalachia, St. Charles,
Duffield, Jasper, Dryden and Pattonsville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
