The Wisconsin River At Portage.
* At 9:00 PM Saturday the stage was 16.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by tomorrow morning and continue
to rise to near 17.2 feet by early Monday morning. The river will
fall below flood stage by Monday evening.
* Impact...At 17.0 feet...There is general overflow of the river.
Water is near homes in the Blackhawk Park area of Portage on the
south side of the river along Old River Road. Floodwaters are over
West Lake Road and Blackhawk Road in the Blackhawk Park area.

Webb Avenue along the river. There is general inundation of lowland
in the Reedsburg area. The walking path in Webb Park and Smith
Conservancy is covered with water. The Public Works Yard is under
12-18 inches of water.

tomorrow early afternoon.
* Impact...At 22.0 feet...Floodwaters affect the edges of Highways
DD, 154 and 136 in Rock Springs as well as Busser Park along
Highway 136. Water is about 3 feet deep in the baseball diamond in
Fireman's Park along Highway DD. Floodwaters affect some
businesses, including the Post Office, on Highway 154 in Rock
Springs.

business and a road wayside park about 5 miles downstream near the
Highway 33 bridge. Floodwaters also affect an auto auction business
near Highway I-94. This level is the 20 percent chance flood
meaning that there is a 20 percent chance in any given year of the
river reaching this level.

(Main St) and Hwy N (E Dane St) and S Center Ave. Riverview Drive
near the wastewater plant is flooded and closed.

area are flooded and closed: Sinissippi drive, Bark River Road from
Kutz Road to Rock River Road. The river walkway in Fort Atkinson
becomes flooded and is closed.

* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by this morning and continue to
rise to near 11.3 feet by Thursday early afternoon. Additional
rises are possible thereafter.
* Impact...At 11.3 feet...There is knee-deep water over Blackhawk
Island Road. Lamp Road on west side of river also becomes flooded.
Lake Koshkonong merges with Mud Lake to the east of Lake
Koshkonong.

affected by floodwaters. County Highway V and Oak Knoll Road in the
Town of Dekorra have water up to the edge of the pavement. A few
homes in the Town of Dekorra area near the river have water in the
first floor and there is also flooding of outbuildings and yards.

floodwaters in their basements and first floors. Martintown Road
and West River Road in the Martintown area are flooded. Hwy 11,
Highway MM and West Indies Road upstream in Browntown are flooded.
Highway 73 about 1 mile downstream in Winslow Illinois is flooded.

* Impact...At 10.7 feet...About 3 miles west of Sheboygan Airport,
Woodland Road is closed between Rio Road and Willow Road. A section
of Alpine Road near the Sheboygan Airport is closed. There is
flooding in River Park in Sheboygan Falls and in Esslingen Park in
Sheboygan. This level is the 10 percent chance flood meaning that
there is a 10 percent chance of the river reaching this level in
any given year.

* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by tonight and continue to rise
to near 17.9 feet by early Tuesday morning.
* Ice may cause rapid fluctuations in river level.
* Impact...At 18.0 feet...Water surrounds seasonal homes along Old
River Rd in the Blackhawk Park and 12 homes flooded on Hwy V. Old
River Rd covered with water. West Lane Rd in the Long Lake area has
4 feet of water over it in places. Water over River Oaks Rd near
Hwy V and Oak Knoll Rd in Town of Dekorra 7 miles downstream. Water
at base of Caledonia/Lewiston Levee on Old River Rd. This level is
about a 20 percent chance flood meaning that there is a 20 percent
chance in any given year of the river reaching this level.

High pressure will bring quiet weather this weekend into early next week. Quiet across southern Wisconsin tonight as high pressure keeps a weather system south of Wisconsin. AVIATION(00Z TAFS)... VFR conditions are expected across southern Wisconsin through the TAF period. Winds will remain below 10kts. PREV DISCUSSION... (Issued 310 PM CDT Sat Mar 16 2019) SHORT TERM... Tonight through Monday...Forecast confidence is high: Low pressure will pass by to the south tonight. Consensus of 12Z guidance suggests an area of snowfall associated with the low should stay south of the WI/IL border. Overall saturation is not deep across southern Wisconsin, with a fair amount of dry air in the low levels. Do expect clouds to spread across the area though, so kept low temps on the milder end of model guidance. Looks like some mid/high level clouds in the north/west Sunday, with a better chance of sunshine in the southeast. Should see high temps around normal for mid-March. LONG TERM... Tuesday through Saturday...Forecast confidence is medium to high: Departing high pressure will result in continue dry weather on Tuesday, with temps warming to a few degrees above normal. Light snow or flurries may brush the southern forecast area then Tuesday night into Wednesday morning as weak low pressure passes by to the south. High pressure will build back into the area for Thursday into the weekend. Should be a pleasant stretch of weather, with mostly sunny days and above normal temperatures.
