The main hazards will be lightning and isolated strong wind gusts. Waterspouts: There is a slight chance for waterspouts over all South Florida waters today. Wind: Isolated thunderstorm wind gusts of around 45 miles per hour are possible today. Wind gust over the local South Florida waters may exceed 25 knots. Temperatures: The heat index is forecast to reach to 105 in portions of the interior areas of South Florida today. Flooding: Locally heavy rainfall may result in ponding of water in low lying and poorly drained areas, especially if heavy showers pass over the same area multiple times. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY Thunderstorms are possible through much of the upcoming week. The thunderstorm coverage should become more widespread over South Florida by Tuesday and remain enhanced through the remainder of the week. Lightning, heavy rainfall leading to street flooding, and gusty winds are the main hazards. Heat index values could approach 105 degrees over some interior and western sections, especially during the latter half of the week. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Widespread spotter activation is not anticipated, however individual spotters are encouraged to report high wind, hail and flooding to the National Weather Service forecast office in Miami.
