.SYNOPSIS...Patchy fog is possible this morning, otherwise
expect mostly sunny skies today. Dry Thursday and Friday with
much warmer afternoon high temperatures. Wet weather returns on
Saturday, with showers ending on Sunday.

&&

.SHORT TERM...Today through Friday. Recent precipitation in
combination with clear skies should lead to some patchy fog
across portions of northern and central NV this morning. Dry with
warming temperatures through Friday as high pressure builds in
from the west. Most valley locations can expect highs on Thursday
to climb into the upper 60s or low 70s, then into the 70s and
possibly a few areas reaching 80 degrees on Friday.

.LONG TERM...Friday night through next Tuesday.

After several dry days there will be another shortwave low
pressure system moving through the Great Basin over the weekend.
This will be a quick-moving system without a lot of moisture that
will bring valley rain and some snow to elevations above 7000
feet, and knock daytime temperatures back down into the 50s and
60s. The system should be all done by early Sunday morning. Next
week will start under mild ridging with a basically dry regime
and temperatures will rebound back into the 70s.

&&

.AVIATION...Low pressure will continue to move southeast across
Arizona and New Mexico overnight into Wednesday morning. As a
result, VFR conditions with generally clear to partly cloudy skies
will prevail across northern and central Nevada with only a small
chance of patchy fog forming in the vicinity of KELY for a few
hours around and after daybreak this morning. North to northwest
winds could still gusts to around or a bit over 20kts at KTPH
during the afternoon.

&&

.HYDROLOGY...The Humboldt river near Battle Mountain is expected
to remain elevated but below flood stage through this week. Down
stream from Battle Mountain a crest on the Humboldt river is
expected to reach the Winnemucca area on Thursday, which will
bring the stage of the Humboldt up close to minor flood stage.

Elevated flows continue today on some of the smaller streams and
creeks around the region, such as the Bruneau river which
continues to hover just above minor flood stage.

Dry conditions are expected today through Friday, however
temperatures will rise up into the upper 60s to low 70s Thursday
and Friday, which will lead to rising flows for creeks and streams
coming off snow capped mountains.

Then on Saturday locally moderate to heavy rainfall will be
possible in some areas which may lead to additional hydrologic
issues, especially along smaller creeks and streams.
