...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 400 AM CDT FOR EAST
CENTRAL PLAQUEMINES PARISH...
    
At 341 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located over Venice, or 28 miles southeast of Port Sulphur,
moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado and golf ball size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage 
         to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is 
         likely.

This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
east central Plaquemines Parish, including the following locations...
Boothville Asos.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile
home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and
protect yourself from flying debris.

...THE TORNADO WARNING FOR EAST CENTRAL PLAQUEMINES PARISH WILL
EXPIRE AT 400 AM CDT...
        
The storm which prompted the tornado warning is moving into the 
coastal waters. Therefore, the tornado warning will be allowed to 
expire. A Special Marine Warning for the Coastal Waters from 
Boothville to the Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River out 20 nm 
is in effect until 445 am CDT.

Short Term...Cold front will push through the area overnight
tonight bringing drier conditions to the region. Surface high will
build in on Monday bringing sunny and mild conditions.

Long Term..Tuesday through Thursday...Surface high will dominate
the region with a long wave trof over the eastern Great Lakes
region and an upper level ridge over the Rockies bringing a
continuation of sunny and dry conditions. Conditions will remain
dry with a gradual warming trend as an upper level ridge over
western states works its way slowly eastward building over the
region by weeks end.

.AVIATION...
Expect VFR conditions to prevail through out the TAF period.

.MARINE...
A front will continue to push into the coastal waters this evening
which will turn winds to north to northeast across most waters going
into Monday. Expect offshore flow to continue into Tuesday before
switch back onshore later on in the week. Still some potential for
thunderstorms over the more southern coastal waters early to middle
of next week.

...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT CENTRAL PLAQUEMINES PARISH...

At 253 AM CDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 10 miles south of
Empire, or 15 miles south of Port Sulphur, moving east at 25 mph.

Winds in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail are possible with this
storm.

Locations impacted include...
Buras, Venice, Empire and Boothville.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause
localized flooding.
