* HIGH WAVE ACTION, STRONG RIP CURRENTS, AND STRONG STRUCTURAL 
  CURRENTS WILL CREATE DANGEROUS SWIMMING CONDITIONS. 

* OVERVIEW/POTENTIAL IMPACTS...Southwest winds 15 to 20 mph with
  gusts 25 to 30 mph. Waves 3 to 5 feet. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Life threatening waves and currents are expected at the beaches.
People visiting the beaches should stay out of the water.

Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from the shore...which occur most often at low spots or breaks in
sandbars. Rip currents can sweep you into deeper water.

Structural currents form along piers where longshore currents and
wave action flow into the structure. Structural currents can
sweep you out into deeper water along the pier structure.

.SYNOPSIS...
Issued at 403 AM EDT Thu Aug 29 2019

An upper level disturbance will move across the area by late
tonight. This system is expected to trigger showers and a few
storms that may be accompanied by gusty winds, especially over
northwest Indiana west of highway 31. Highs today will range from
around 80 to 85. Highs Friday will be a few degrees cooler from
around 75 to 80.

.SHORT TERM...(Today and Tonight)
Issued at 352 AM EDT Thu Aug 29 2019

An upper level disturbance was over the Upper Midwest early this
morning. This system is expected to race southeast and reach
northern Indiana this evening. Rapid moisture return ahead of this
system will better favor storm development. There was still a very
wide spread among the models ranging from less active solutions
particularity among the spectral models including the EC and GFS
to more active solutions of the convective allowing models. Fairly
impressive 0 to 3 km shear of 30 m/s is indicated with max most
unstable CAPES of 1000 to 1500 J/Kg would favor some storm
organization with gusty winds. All considered, it looks like the
best chance for storms will be very late this afternoon to about
mid evening with strong gusty winds possible.

.LONG TERM...(Friday through Wednesday)

A fairly tranquil period is ahead as the upper level flow becomes
more high zonal. However, another upper level system will move
across the area and should generate showers Saturday into Sunday.
Dry conditions should prevail after Sunday with highs warming into
the 80s by Tuesday.

.AVIATION...(For the 06Z TAFS through 06Z Thursday Night)
Issued at 110 AM EDT Thu Aug 29 2019

Vast majority of the TAF period will be VFR conditions. A few
small windows of potential flight issues creep in towards the last
6 hours when a cold front will bring a chance for showers/storms
to KSBN somewhere in the 00-03Z window and maybe to KFWA a few
hours later. Should just be 1 quick line that would cause a brief
excursion into mainly MVFR vsby with heavy rain. Gusty winds will
be possible during the afternoon and again with the line. Have
introduced tempo group for thunder in what appear to be best
window of opportunity. It is possible storms dissipate or never
make it to either site, but confidence growing at least enough for
KSBN to add in. At KFWA bigger issue may be a brief period of LLWS
after 00Z as low level jet ramps up pushing 50 knots. Threat will
probably end just outside the valid window.
