Issued at 216 AM EDT Mon Jun 17 2019 A lingering frontal boundary across southern Indiana will be the focus for more rainfall the next few days. Several upper level weather disturbances are expected to pass across the Ohio Valley through Tuesday Night. This in combination with the lingering boundary will provide a focus for showers and storms...particularly across southern Indiana. Should Heavy Rain occur...additional flooding will be possible. Chances for more showers and storms will continue into next weekend as several more upper level weather disturbances are expected to pass resulting in more showers and storms. The wet pattern will keep temperatures at or below normals through the week ahead. && .NEAR TERM /Today/... Issued at 216 AM EDT Mon Jun 17 2019 Surface analysis early this morning shows a warm front in place across Central Indiana...stretching nearly along I-70 from Central MO to Western PA. High pressure was found across the Great Lakes...and low pressure was in place across Arkansas. Aloft a trough of low pressure was found over the southern plains states was providing a warm and moist southerly flow to the Ohio Valley as water Vapor imagery shows bountiful moisture in place from Texas to the Ohio valley. Dew points across Central Indiana remained quite moist in the upper 60s. Again today a favorable pattern will be in place for rain...with the main focus along and south of I-70. GFS and NAM again show a short wave pushing across central Indiana this afternoon. Our stationary front will remain in place across the southern parts of the forecast area. Forecast soundings show a deeply saturated column again...with pwats over 1.84 through the middle of the day. Time heights show deep saturated on Excellent forcing near 18Z. HRRR suggests a band of showers/storms developing near i-70 and pushing north through the afternoon. Confidence is low on exact placement at this point...but given the favorable set-up will trend pops at or above the NBM...especially south of I-70. Furthermore...very saturated ground in place across Central Indiana and it will not take much rain to result in flooding or flash flooding. A flood watch or flash flood watch may be needed today. Given the expected rain will trend temps at or below the NBM. && .SHORT TERM /Tonight through Wednesday Night/... Issued at 216 AM EDT Mon Jun 17 2019 Even more rain looks in store tonight...particularly across southern Indiana. The previously discussed upper trough over the southern plains is expected to lift northeast into Tennessee valley tonight...again providing good lift to the southern half of Central Indiana. That said, models suggest a couple of waves could move through the ridge and result in the possibility of more convection the weekend. With the ridge rather impressive, confidence is not great on rain chances until Sunday, when a trough approaches from the west. HUNDRED FEET BEFORE DISSIPATING. THE

THE TORNADO STARTED WEST OF NORTH CROWE ROAD
CAUSING SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO A NEWLY BUILT
BUILDING ON CROWE ROAD. THE OWNER VERIFIED
IT WAS WELL BUILT AND IN VERY GOOD SHAPE.
THE TRACK CONTINUED ACROSS STATE ROAD 54 AND
LEFT A WIDE SWATH OF TREE DAMAGE WITH A
RESIDENT STATING OVER 100 ACRES OF TREES
WERE SNAPPED. THE STORM CROSS STATE ROAD 43
AND DISSIPATED IN A FIELD TO THE EAST. THE
DURATION OF THE TORNADO EVENT WAS 4 MINUTES.

EF-2 TORNADO.THE TORNADO BEGAN IN RURAL
COUNTRYSIDE NORTHEAST OF ELLETTSVILLE DOING
SOME TREE DAMAGE BEFORE CROSSING STATE ROAD
46 AND DOING SIGNIFICANT TREE DAMAGE ALONG
CHAFIN CHAPEL ROAD. A 400 YARD WIDE PATH OF
TREES WAS COMPLETELY SHREDDED IN SPOTS.
ADDITIONAL WIDESPREAD TREE DAMAGE WAS FOUND
ON MOUNT TABOR ROAD AND WEST COWDEN ROAD.
ALONG WEST COWDEN ROAD, SEVERAL BARNS AND
OUTBUILDINGS WERE DESTROYED AS WELL AS A
LOOSELY ANCHORED GARAGE COMPLETELY SWEPT OFF
OF ITS FOUNDATION. THE TORNADO CONTINUED
INTO RURAL FOREST BEFORE DISSIPATING. THE
DURATION OF THE TORNADO EVENT WAS 10
MINUTES.

EF-1 TORNADO. THE TORNADO BEGAN JUST
SOUTHWEST OF DOWNTOWN FREEDOM BEFORE MOVING
INTO THE TOWN SHEARING NUMEROUS TREES AROUND
TOWN. THE TORNADO CONTINUED TO THE NORTHEAST
LEAVING A VERY CLEAR PATH OF SHEARED AND
UPROOTED TREES IN A PATH ABOUT 200 YARDS
WIDE. THE STORM CROSSED THE WHITE RIVER
SEVERAL TIMES OVER ITS LIFETIME AND FOLLOWED
THE RIVER LINE TO SOUTH OF SPENCER. THIS IS
WHERE A LARGE BUILDING HAD ITS ROOF UPLIFTED
AND WALLS COLLAPSED. THE BUILDING WAS PART
OF A BUSINESS THAT WAS SET TO OPEN FOR THE
FIRST TIME ON MONDAY. THE DAMAGE ENDED
SHORTLY AFTER AND THE STORM RECYCLED INTO
THE NEXT TORNADO. THE DURATION OF THE
TORNADO EVENT WAS 16 MINUTES.
