This system will bring a swath of 4 to 7 inches of snow over the region along Interstate 72, mixed at times with freezing rain. Lower amounts of snow will occur over the southern portions of central and in southeast Illinois, with accumulations of freezing rain. To the north, lighter snowfall amounts will fall. Hazardous driving conditions can be expected from late Sunday into Tuesday. && .UPDATE... Issued at 849 PM CST Sat Dec 14 2019 Clearing line has been slow to make progress, but is now approaching the I-55 corridor. Not much of a window for clear skies behind it, as high clouds are already streaming into central Iowa and Missouri from the central Plains. Temperatures have dipped below 20 degrees where the clearing has occurred, but still linger in the 30 degree vicinity over much of the CWA. Updates have been sent for the cloud and temperature trends tonight.
