.SYNOPSIS...
A cold front will trigger showers and thunderstorms over
southern areas through this evening. High pressure will crest
over the region on Tuesday before shifting offshore to the
southeast. A low pressure will slowly move northeast through
southern Quebec on Wednesday. A secondary trough of low pressure
will drop southeast through the region Thursday night and
Friday. High pressure will gradually build in from the west over
the weekend.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
A short wave trough will move across the region this evening,
and will be associated with scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Given the amount of moisture and CAPE along with steep low
level lapse rates, a few storms may be severe. Damaging winds
and torrential downpours will be the main threat. The threat for
storms ends by 00z as a short wave trough quickly moves
offshore. Clearing is expected tonight in the wake of the front.
Valley fog, some dense, is expected overnight. Some dense fog
will also be possible on the Midcoast as well.

.SHORT TERM /TUESDAY THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT/...
Fair weather expected Tuesday with short wave ridging in place.
Highs will be well into the 80s, but with far less humidity.
The next short wave trough and attendant warm front approaches
late Tuesday night, with an increasing chances for showers and
a few thunderstorms across southern zones late.

.LONG TERM /WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY/...
Unsettled weather through Friday and drier air will move in for the
weekend.

A frontal system to the south of the forecast area will move back
north with increasing chance of showers and thunderstorms through
Wednesday night. Dewpoint temperatures will climb back to near
70 on Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday will start out with chance
showers and thunderstorms with the warm front passage. The cold
front will pass through later in the day giving likely showers
and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.

Thursday will still be a warm day but dewpoint temperatures will be
a bit more comfortable. The cooler and drier air sets in for Friday
with dewpoints in the mid 50s or less. Showers possible in the
mountains Friday afternoon.

High pressure from the west will dominate the weekend with
cooler and drier air. High temperatures over the weekend and
Monday are forecast to be in the 70s with low humidity.

.AVIATION /18Z MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY/...
Short Term...Sct thunderstorms through 00z this evening with
locally gusty SFC winds. Otherwise, LIFR conditions in fog and
low clouds tonight on the Midcoast of ME, as well as interior
river valleys. VFR on Tuesday.

Long Term...Expect occasional MVFR/IFR in showers and
thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday possible MVFR
in afternoon showers at HIE but VFR expected elsewhere.

.MARINE...
Short Term...Locally strong wind gusts in thunderstorms are
possible on the waters through 8 PM tonight. Otherwise
conditions are expected to remain below SCA thresholds through
Tuesday night. Marine fog is likely off the Midcoast of ME
tonight.

Long Term...SCA possible Wednesday and Thursday mainly due to
seas.

At 231 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Canterbury, or
near Franklin, moving east at 15 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph and penny size hail are possible with this
storm.

Locations impacted include...
Concord, Laconia, Franklin, Loudon, Barnstead, Gilmanton, Canterbury,
Belmont, Gilford, Boscawen, Andover, Tilton, Sanbornton, Webster,
Salisbury, Northfield and Pittsfield.

This includes Interstate 93 between mile markers 44 and 60.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

At 237 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Windsor, or 9
miles west of Henniker, moving northeast at 25 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail are possible with this
storm.

Locations impacted include...
Concord, Franklin, Henniker, Hopkinton, Antrim, Canterbury, Bradford,
Windsor, Warner, Hillsborough, Marlow, Deering, Weare, Boscawen,
Lempster, Washington, Webster, Salisbury, Sulton and Northfield.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 89 between mile markers 3 and 24.
 Interstate 93 between mile markers 38 and 50.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause

Sumner, Milton, Albany, Stoneham, Mason and Peru.
