* At 233 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
  was located over Gastonia, moving east at 25 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado and half dollar size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. 
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree

CENTRAL MECKLENBURG COUNTY...
    
At 300 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located 7 miles west of Uptown Charlotte, or near Paw Creek,
moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage 
         to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is 
         likely.

This dangerous storm will remain over mainly rural areas of west
central Mecklenburg County.
