.SYNOPSIS...
An upper trough will move east out of the area tonight. High
pressure will build east across the southern Great Lakes and
Ohio valley tonight through Monday night, moving off the New
England coast by Tuesday. A cold front will sink south into the
central Great Lakes Tuesday before high pressure builds
northward from the Tennessee valley, remaining in control over
the area through Wednesday night. A warm front will lift north
into the area Thursday.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT/...
An upper trough will move through the area during the rest of
this afternoon through this evening. Scattered lake enhanced
snow showers continue across the area late this afternoon, and
will reach a peak in intensity over the next couple of hours
with the passage of the trough and slight improvement in lapse
rates/inversion heights. The scattered snow showers will
continue into the evening before diminishing as drier air works
into the area with the synoptic support moving away from the
region. Some showers may linger across north central Ohio
through midnight, but in general, dry conditions are expected
for most of the area after midnight outside of snow belt, where
snow may linger a few hours longer. High pressure will build
northeast across the area late tonight and will remain in
control through Monday night, bringing cooler conditions and
mostly clear skies late tonight through Monday. Some increase in
cloud cover is possible late Monday and Monday night as a front
sinks south into the central Great Lakes. Went cool for lows
tonight, especially across areas with a fresh snow pack, with
brief clearing and decoupling of winds towards early tomorrow
morning should allow for a quick drop in temps before sunrise.
Lows will be in the upper teens to the low 20s. Highs tomorrow
will be cooler with the ridge overnight, but some return flow
develops across the west late in the day. Highs range from the
mid/upper 30s across the snow belt to the mid 40s across
northwest Ohio. Lows tomorrow night will be warmer with the
expected cloud cover and increased southerly flow, generally in
the mid 20s to low 30s.

.SHORT TERM /TUESDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT/...
High pressure will be well east of the region on Tuesday with
southwest winds increase ahead of a cold front that will sag
southward across Ontario. So expect warmer conditions into
Wednesday. The weak frontal boundary may sag into the area Wednesday
night with a light north wind developing. Currently the area remains
dry enough with the approaching front to keep the forecast dry.

Highs Tuesday and Wednesday should reach into the 50s at most
locations. Slightly cooler near the lake where the flow is onshore.

.LONG TERM /THURSDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...
Uncertainty on where the stalled frontal boundary will be by
Thursday morning. However as high pressure moves off the Middle
Atlantic Coast there should be an increase of Gulf of Mexico moisture
into at least the lower Ohio River Valley. This moisture will
eventually lifted over the frontal boundary as low pressure moves
closer to the area. The track of the low is also very uncertain but
believe there will be a period of rain that arrives Thursday
afternoon then will continue into at least Friday evening.
Fortunately it appears warm enough to keep the precipitation all
liquid.

Highs will generally range from the upper 40s to the upper 50s
Thursday and Friday. Maybe slightly cooler on Saturday in the wake
of the storm system but most locations will be above 50 degrees.
Sunday should warm back to the 60s away from the lake.

.AVIATION /18Z Sunday THROUGH Friday/...
A weak trough will move southeast across the area late this
afternoon through this evening. Widespread MVFR to low VFR
ceilings will persist into the overnight before gradual lifting
and clearing of clouds. Some lake enhanced snow showers may
impact the terminals through 06Z, however restrictions should
remain above IFR levels. Northwest winds with gusts up to 25 kts
early will become light and generally westerly late tonight into
Monday.

OUTLOOK...Mainly VFR is expected through mid week.

.MARINE...
West to northwest winds remain high enough on the lake keep waves in
the 3 to 5 foot range. So no change to the small craft advisory.
High pressure will build across the lake overnight with winds
decreasing by sunrise. Lighter winds will then prevail through at
least MOnday night. We will need to monitor a weakening cold front
that will sag southward toward the lake Tuesday. A southwesterly wind
will increase through the day but believe waves will remain just
under 4 feet. The frontal boundary will then attempt to move just
south of the lake on Wednesday with a light northerly flow possible
by Wednesday night. Easterly winds will increase on Thursday with a
small craft possible across the western half of the lake.
