  water level will drop to around 14 inches above low water datum
  by late this morning. Mariners should monitor water levels in
  the western basin today.

.SYNOPSIS...
Low pressure in the central plains will move northeast across
the central Great Lakes tonight to southern Ontario by Sunday
morning. A warm front will lift north across the region tonight
ahead of the low. A cold front will follow quickly behind. High
pressure will build in from the west on Monday and Tuesday.

.NEAR TERM / TONIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT/...
Low pressure over northern MO will track northeast through the
late afternoon and evening reaching central Lake Michigan by
06Z. A warm front will lift northeast into the area after 03Z or
so ahead of the low. Manual progs have the warm front near a
TOL-MFD line at 06Z. A cold front will move in from the west
through the overnight hours, likely just entering the CWA around
06Z. By 12Z the cold front should be entering nwrn PA. Have
used the HRRR/SREF pops and timing through the evening and
overnight to derive hourly pops/weather which is in good
agreement with neighbor office solutions. Will bring categorical
pops in from the west after 22-23Z time frame with cat pops
reaching a CLE_CAK line by 01Z and ERI by 03Z. Will also
continue with a period of moderate rain and also have a chance
of thunder west half through the evening both based on
convective elements that likely will reach into the area. Drying
quickly follows from the west after 09Z with most areas having a
dry day on Sunday. Will need to begin Sunday with likely pops
nwrn PA at first with the cold front just entering at 12Z. Also
with flow off the lake all day and dropping temps aloft, will
have low chance pops for continuing showers through the
afternoon. Sunday evening no big change with dry air everywhere
with the exception of nwrn PA with flow off the lake. Will begin
with chance pops for rain/snow showers, changing to all snow
showers through the evening. No significant accums expected. The
other issue of course is the wind for tonight into Sunday. Winds
currently from the east around 12-15 knots gusting to near 20
knots. Winds will veer from the east, through southeast overnight,
to south to southwest by Sunday morning. Winds will also
increase to 15 to 20 knots. Highest winds, roughly 20 to 25
knots should occur west third and along the OH lakeshore
overnight and Sunday. While there could be a few hours where
winds gust to near advisory criteria, it appears at this time
that most of the event will remain below advisory levels and
will therefore not expand/issue further wind headlines at this
point. Along the Erie PA lakeshore however the setting is a
typical enhanced wind setup with downslope flow off the higher
terrain in a southerly gradient. Lows tonight from the upper 30s
to near 40. Highs Sunday in the 40s. Lows Sunday night in the
upper 20s behind the cold front.

.SHORT TERM /MONDAY THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT/...
High pressure will slowly increase its influence Monday into
Tuesday. However there will still be some colder air flowing across
the Great Lakes on Monday so some lake effect snow will be possible
across extreme NE OH into NW PA. The atmosphere looks fairly dry so
will not be very aggressive with snow amounts. Dusting at most places
but cant rule out a 2 inch total somewhere across inland NW PA. High
pressure is over the region by Tuesday morning with any light
snow/flurry activity ending. The area of high pressure will persist
into Tuesday night.

Cooler on Monday and Tuesday with highs ranging from the mid 30s to
the mid 40s. Seasonal low temperature are expected both Monday and
Tuesday nights.

.LONG TERM /WEDNESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY/...
High pressure will move east of the area by Wednesday morning
allowing the next storm system to approach the region. This low
looks like it will track toward Lake Superior so we will see a
longer period of moisture and warmth surging into the county warning
area. So expect a warming trend for Wednesday into Thursday. There
are a couple pieces of jet energy that will impact the region
Wednesday night through Friday which makes it difficult to time the
showers and thunderstorms that should develop at times. Have
currently leaned toward a more scattered nature to the convection
for Thursday into Friday and will adjust from there. The cold front
should be east of the region by Friday evening with any remaining
showers changing to snow overnight. An upper level trough will
linger to the west of the area on Saturday with an afternoon maximum
to the rain/snow showers.

Warmer on Wednesday with highs into the 50s at most locations.
Thursday looks to be the warmest day of the long term with highs
well into the 60s. If we see a significant period of sunshine on
Thursday highs may touch 70. Cooler on Friday in the wake of the
cold front with highs in the 40s west to the 50s east. By Saturday
highs will be in the middle to upper 30s.

.AVIATION /18Z Saturday THROUGH Thursday/...
Expecting VFR conditions to persist through the balance of the
afternoon for most however CIGS from TOL and FDY to possibly MFD
should get to MVFR between 22Z and 00Z as rain moves in. Rain
will continue to overspread the area from west to east through
the evening continuing overnight. Could also have a rumble of
thunder through the evening hours. Overnight expect continued
MVFR/IFR. Conditions to improve to MVFR or low VFR into the
late afternoon on Sunday. Also, winds will increase from the
south and southeast this evening to around 15 to 20 knots with
higher gusts, turning southwest at 20 to 25 knots west half
towards morning. Winds will be highest at the KERI terminal from
the south and southeast this evening and overnight gusting over
40 knots at times.

OUTLOOK...Non-VFR at times Sunday afternoon and evening. Non-
VFR possible across NE OH/NW PA Sunday night and Monday.

.MARINE...
Low pressure will move into the Great Lakes tonight into Sunday and
will tighten the surface pressure gradient. Southeasterly wind near
a warm front will increase overnight and may produce gale conditions
on the eastern end of the lake tonight. We then wait for the passage
of a cold front on Sunday that will bring gusty southwest to west
winds. Winds will be the strongest from about the middle of the lake
to the east end on Sunday. So with that all said we will go with a
Gale Warning across the central and eastern half of the lake and
keep the watch going across the western basin. There is still a very
small window of time, maybe 09Z through 14Z, where a gale could
occur across the west but confidence is not high enough to go with
the warning. High pressure slowly drifts into the region from the
west Sunday night into Monday with it over the lake by Tuesday
morning. This high will move east of the lake by Wednesday morning
allowing the next storm system to approach from the Plains.
