High pressure will build into the region tonight and will prevail
into late next week.
&&
.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM SATURDAY MORNING/...
This evening: windy and increasingly dry conditions will prevail
early, then winds will gradually diminish after sunset. Overnight,
building surface high pressure will provide dry and cool
condition. Decreasing winds under clear skies will help temps
dip to around 50F inland and into the middle/upper 50s along
the coast.
Lake Winds: Extended the ongoing Lake Wind Advisory until 11 pm.
West winds gusting as high as 30 knots will persist into the
evening as the environment over the lake remains well mixed.
Waves of at least 2 to 3 feet will create hazardous conditions
for small craft.

.SHORT TERM /6 AM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH MONDAY/...
High confidence this period with no significant weather expected.
High pressure centered more over the region Saturday looks to shift
offshore allowing a warmer return flow to set up later in the
weekend with temperatures getting above normal likely starting
Saturday night. Dry conditions should preclude any rain through the
period.

.LONG TERM /MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/...
Deep layered ridging favors dry and warm weather through much
of next week. The upper ridge could begin to break down by
Thursday or Friday, potentially allowing for a few showers.
Temps will be well above normal.

VFR. West winds will gust to 25-30 knots until after sunset.
Then, winds will veer toward the northwest and will gradually
diminish as the night progresses.

This Evening and Tonight: Small Craft Advisories remain in
effect for all zones except AMZ354. In the wake of a cold
front pushing offshore, west winds will gust to 30 knots over
all waters, until late this evening across nearshore waters
including the Charleston Harbor, and beyond 20 nm until later
tonight. Seas will also peak between 4-6 ft in coastal waters
early, highest beyond 10 nm in northern South Carolina waters
and in offshore Georgia waters.
Winds/seas will steadily decrease/subside later tonight, especially
after midnight as the pressure gradient begins to relax behind the
departing cold front. As a result, Small Craft Advisories will
likely come to an end for the CHS Harbor and nearshore waters by
midnight. Small Craft Advisory level conditions could linger a few
hours longer across offshore Georgia waters, but conditions should
continue to improve through daybreak Saturday.
Saturday through Wednesday: High pressure centered over the waters
will shift offshore this weekend with a weakening cold front
approaching Sunday. This will lead to a pattern more typical of
summer including a decent sea breeze each afternoon, although
Small Craft Advisories are not anticipated at this time.
